AIO vs. Prime (and others) as a base for Zaino

Has anyone compared AIO & Prime as a base for Zaino (Z2Pro or Z5Pro)?

Are these polishes essentially the same formula (or very close)?

I'm interested in hearing about your experience, thoughts, etc...

I currently use FPII, 106FF/BF, and ZPC as my finishing polish -depending on the paint, color, and finish condition.

ZPC is by far the best look when using the Zaino system (IMO), but it doesn't finish as clean as Menzerna in some cases (my experience). At the end of the day, I'm after what finishes *best* on black paint.

(LOL - isn't everyone. Black is my reference)

I'm on a mission to dial in a finishing polish that will clear up compound hazing and minor defects -or can be used as a mild/moderate SMR stand alone -that is compatible with Zaino.

085RD would be the CLEAR winner in my book, but Menzerna gave it the boot and I'm not going to pay ransom to pick up a quart. It's no longer an option for me.

Please share your opinions, experience, and process....

If you hate Zaino, please move on. :argue

I'm not trying to start up the Civil War Part XXXIV. :usa

How does 085RD differ from FPII or the BF FP?

I agree with you though, the ZPC just doesn't finish as well as FPII or the BF product.

any polish will work if you do a 50a/50w wipedown. Try using some QD as a lubricant with ZPC and see if that makes any difference.

O85RD is the 'cleanest looking' finishing polish that I've used (especially on black paint).

It's noticeable to the eye vs. FPII on dark colors -but both look excellent (IMO).

106FF/BF is a tad more abrasive, and can dust. I've never had any dusting with 085RD, or FPII for that matter.

I have done both AIO (old version), Prime and Prime Strong for quik PC LSP removal and very mild blemishe repairs with excellent results prior to Zaino applications. There seems to be no incompatibilty and the ZFX-enabled Zaino seems to bond perfectly. Since I use Z8 often, any potential decreased in durability is not observable.

I too love P085RD or IP prior to Z-PC for the annual major prep performed by rotary. All of these products leave the finish perfectly clean for the highest Zaino bonding.

These techniques have been successful for me on black (Z28 and LS400), white (Escalade and MX6), silver metallic (Escort) and Red (Torch) (C5). :xyxthumbs

mgm121499...

are you using the Menzerna polishes with a PC, Cyclo or Rotary? Just curious since I started using Zaino for the first time back in June.
