After a few years of detailing one of my client's vehicles, I finally came around to detailing his bad-a$$ '88 Mustang. The paint was repainted a while ago with black BASF Glasurite 40 line paint. This paint was incredibly soft, and the owner wanted me to use the least aggressive methods possible. So, after trying a few different things, such as poli seal by itself via both PC and rotary with ok results, I finalized SIP and a UDM with a white polishing pad. The owner tells me the clearcoat was mixed into the actual paint, and so paint transfer was normal. Thankfully, it wasn't that bad considering the fact that I wasn't using aggressive pads. The vehicle then was treated to a z6 spray down followed by z5 and then z8. Interestingly, streaks showed-up after the Zaino treatment, but they went away the next morning when I was finishing up the vehicle, which was nice. Here are some befores, and many afters.
