I'm 14 years old and I started detailing cars about 2 years ago. This summer i'm going to start doing it all the time vs. just on the weekend. Here are two of the cars i've done. See what you think!

Definately some nice work - great job :bigups

My detailing regime at 14 was taking my car to the car wash(not brushless!) :crazy I didn't even know what turtle wax was...

Wax

When I wax the cars i've been using Meguiars Gold Glass Wax and i've found it hard to get off and i'm not getting the results I would like. I know tons of people always ask what is the best wax to use, but what would give me very good results and is fairly easy to get off. Thanks

Great work my man!! I commend you for your work because I started exactly where you are. Take a look at my website, as it will tell you where I got started.

By the way, WELCOME TO DC
:welcome

I started detailing at age 10 when my dad bought a brand new Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Coupe. I was going to help so I washed it with a rag and Comet. I got it very clean.

After that I wasn't even allowed to walk in the driveway unitl I was 16 and then only with a threat of death if I got within 50 ft of the Cadillac.

Jeez....talk about overreacting!:lmfao

Nice job kiddo. Keep it up and you'll make some $$$$ this summer.

Congrat on your summer job, will be a lot more fun than flpping burger at Mc D's

If your looking for a better wax, that will give you better results. I would suggest Poorboys Polish with Carnuba as a one step. Then you can offer his sealant for a bit extra or just include. The finish will be great on those newer cars.

Good Luck!!

So what happened to the paint???

Nice work there, I've used goldclass twice. Both times I hated it.
I'm liking Wolfgang sealant.. looks great slick as hell and easy on/off.

First off....great job on the cars and keep up the good work.

I agree with Beemerboy if your looking for a good sealant, Poorboys products are very easy to use and produce great results. Some waxes are harder to remove than others, but when this happens spray some quick detailer on the paint to buff off the wax residue. Once again Poorboys is my qd of choice but there are others available.

Beemerboy, when you say use Poorboys Polish w/ Carnuba, I always thought the the polish was different than the wax. Is the Poorboys Polish w/ Carnuba a wax and polish in one. Also, what would a sealant do, i've never used that. One more thing, do you guys ever use clay, i'm not to familiar w/ that either. Thanks for all the replies so far!

PwC does both. It polishes and leaves wax behind. Poorboys also makes a sealant with wax called EX. A sealant bonds with the paint and is more durable than wax, which sits on the surface. Clay is used to remove contaminates imbedded in the paint. It has to be used with a lubricant to prevent sticking. Use either a spray shine or I just mix up some car wash soap. You can tell if a car needs to be clayed if you put your hand in a plastic bag and rub the paint, if it's rough it needs to be clayed.

Looking good, as long as you remember to do what you love - love what you do, you will never fail, good luck and happy detailing

hes younger than me, and hes better than me :(

great job, looking great. i guess that makes two of us that are the "padawans" amongst the group

Up until a year ago I'd never heard of clay. Now I see that every detailer uses clay and I realize that it's a must if you want to do a good job.

Wash to get the dirt off. Clay to get the stuck on contaminates. Polish to get rid of the marks in the paint and to bring it to a high luster. Seal to preserve that luster.
