After Hours Of Searching These are the products I am bringing to War With Me

Well after searching for countless hours and asking my good friend G35stilez a ton of questions I have decided on this combination for my vehicles.

2005 Honda Accord-Graphite Pearl
2006 Acura MDX-Billet Silver.

I have been a person that has loved cars since my first vehicle a VW rabbit and the passion has only increased with age. I never knew there was so much to detailing a car until I learned about this site. I cant thank everyone enuff for all there help by posting there results from there experiences. I have always been the guy working on my car and have been happy with the results but boy was I doing it all wrong!

My accord has some bad imprefections that will take some time effort to fix, but the MDX is brand new so polishing will most likely be kept to a minimum.

I have decided on these products to tackle my job.

Porter Cable 7424
Optimum polish
Optimum compound
Optimum hyper compound
Lake country 7.5 concaved pads
Zaino sealent Kit
Poor boys wheel sealent
gold class Wash

The menzerna polishes do look promising but seeing as I am a newbie i am going to stick with these for the time being until i get more comfortable.

I have a couple of points of interest, I know zaino's ZPC is something I should invest in but how would I use that with all of my other compounds? Does the ZPC take the place of any of my optimum polishes?

After using my final optimum polish can I start with the zaino process immediatly after?

Thank you all I look forward to learning more

It would be my opinion(since I know nothing of the Optimum line) that ZPC Fusion would be your last product you use prior to the appliction of the Z2Pro or Z5Pro. Which of the Optimum products is the least aggressive? Whichever one it is Zpc will replace that product.

ZPC has corrective properties so it will be able to take haze and micro marring to a minimum. I personally have had the best luck using a rotary but with due diligence you will recieve good results using a PC.

I believe that ZPC is a compliment to the ZPro's. I consider it an absolute requiset to a complete Zaino detail. It prepares the paint to get the most out of the polishes(sealants) that Zaino sells. If you use ZPC one does not need to do an 50/50 alcohol/water wipe down. Which is what I would do if I used any product other than the Zaino line prior to application.

The Gold Class Wash is the only product you list that I have used.
I happen to like it, but not everyone does.

As far as the PC is concerned, I think it is a good machine for us hobby detailers for the type of paint correction we usually attempt.

The 7.5" pads seem rather large for use with the PC. I happen to use 6.5" pads with good results and I think quite a few people even use 4" pads.

Just a suggestion, don't go overboard on your first few purchases. Get what you need, but take a little time to learn how to use a few items before you buy too many. Trust me, you will end up with a lot of stuff eventually even if you take it slow. :)

Very good advice..you'll have more products then space to store them..

Ok that seems to be the concencus of going with smaller pads.

i hear on having products you dont use, i have bought alot of stuff from my local autozone that now will be just collecting dust.

i haven't seen the 6".5" pads ..are they concave pads..I think you should ask budman about the 7".5" pads..he has a lot of experience with the pads used with a PC..i also have the pads there almost indistructable with solid vecro..the BP sits in the pad rather then on the pad..no worries with pad or velcro failure..

Exactly :bigups I originated using 6.5" pads and then bought 7.5" ones and haven't gone smaller. I hear that the small 4" pads are good for defect removal but I have not compaints with my big pads. The LC 7.5" pads will last forever IMO. The only thing that could go wrong (same with every pad) is the foam ripping- but that's user error.

If you aren't going to use it, see if some of your friends would like to have it.
Keep in mind that just because it came from Auto Zone doesn't make the stuff crap. A lot of OTC products aren't bad at all.

yeah i hear ya but I am unimpressed with the stuff I do have megs 3 step process with gold class wax.
I might use that on some of the cars i am going practice on then step up to my good products

I work in the state police so there is a legion of opportunities for me here for a little side money

I've had the best luck using ZPC with an orange pad on a RO and using very little product. It finishes down well even on dark paint. Use Z5pro/ZFX as a base then add a layer of Z2pro and after the following wash add a spray of Z8.
