After #16

What should I use to remove #16 or do I need to ? I mean I have two coats of NXT topped with #16 and I would like to clean up the #16 and leave the NXT and apply some more #16 or NXT. The finish is exposed to winter conditions and is a daily driver, the #16 is still holding up after 3 months of harsh winter beating.

i think if anything you'll have to start over. i haven't heard of anything that can remove just a layer of wax and not anything underneath the wax. maybe some very light claying?

but yeah, you can either start over, or just put on another layer of #16 or NXT. i guess it all depends on why you want to get rid of the #16.

I just redid my car with nxt and a polishing pad, i used it as a cleaner wax and topped with #16. I

have single stage paint and black was showing up on the pad so im sure i removed the previous layer of #16. The paint was feeling grabby so i dont think there was much left to begin with, but was still beading well after 3 months.

I just handled this on my wife's A8 following a winter roadtrip to TN and I do something similar with all our vehicles. All I had to do was *very gently* clay it and add another coat of wax. Try to clay gently enough that you only clean the remaining LSP, not the "bare paint". Unless the paint gets marred, it's surprising how long you can go with just claying and rewaxing.
