I'm going to polish my car and I need to know exact step to polish the paint. I've seen some wet sand with 2000 grit to remove scratches then they applied polish, others just thoroughly washed and clayed the car then applied polish. Which Meguires polishes and pads are good for this job?

Don't get carried away. Anytime I hear someone asking questions like this and even considering wet sanding I cringe. Not that you couldn't pull it off, but it is often far more involved and has far more risk than the inexperienced person realizes.

Without more information the answers you will get are no more specific than you would find in 5 minutes of searching. Let's see if we can narrow things down a bit.

What year, make, model, mileage and color car are we talking about?

What machine are you going to use or will this be by hand?

Do you have any products on hand that you might be able to work with or will you be purchasing?

Where is the car parked regularly? Outside 24/7 or garaged?

Is this a daily driver? Weekend car?

What is your wash routine? How much time are you willing to invest in maintenance afterward?

2009 volkswagen jetta 56k miles navy blue color,

im using a rotary polisher/buffer it ranges from 700-3200 rpm

im going to buy meguires m105 from what i am told its a good polisher. and ill get the appropriate pad for it too.

my car is parked outside all the time. daily driver, wash routine is every once in a while. im willing to invest alot into maintenance.

Even more-so when someone mentions "apply a polish" ;-)
