Advice needed for a full detail -- Experts needed!

I think maybe the ZAIO would be more of a "finishing polish" out of what you have. Or perhaps the SSR2.5 once it's broken down.

Glad I read the second page... I was just gonna respond and say exactly what Setec did. ZAIO would be much better to follow M205 than ZPC. Really, you don't need to follow M205 with *anything* before you put on your LSP, but ZAIO is a good choice if you're gonna go that route.

Zaino is a great looking sealant, for sure. I'm not usually one to be a "topper", but in this one instance, I think it's a good idea to top Zaino. The reason being is that Zaino looks great, but doesn't provide the greatest environmental protection. Putting a top layer of Collinite over the Zaino would definitely give you superior environmental protection. However, the Zaino look might be muted a bit by the Collinite. That might be a good or a bad thing, depending on the color of the car, and your taste. Give it a shot and see what you think. You could always just stay with the Collinite for the best of both worlds, or even consider a different sealant if you want to stay with a straight sealant look, while still getting good EP.

What 205? Oh...in a further post he says he has 205. Supe, he's just doing this for a show, so he's just going for looks, not durability. (unless I read wrong :o )

Setec, you are correct. Mainly for a show but my car needs it's annual detail anyway.

Supe, thanks for your input. Just when I thought I was done, you got me thinking again. I think I'll stick with straight Zaino for the show, then apply 915 the week after for the EP... by then I won't mind the "muted" look.

I drive a 05 black Acura TL.

I thought we were friends and here you are giving advice to my competition

Random thoughts, might as well toss in *my* $0.02...

+1 on the ZAIO for the jeweling.

LSP- for this situation I'd go with untopped 4-star UPP. OR, OK, the Zaino...the #1 objective here is to wow the natives, and those products oughta do that better than the others mentioned.

All this in seven hours huh?

Yup 7 hours... will definitely post pictures.

I've seen some amazing results from F*UPP... don't think I'll have time to apply a 2nd layer. I guess a swirl free black car is enough to advertise. :D

Yeah, the UPP gives enough of the wax/sealant looks to impress people on both sides of that fence, which oughta fit the bill in this situation.

I don't always get two coats on the S8 before taking it out, and it still looks fine. I really dunno if additional coats add much of anything looks-wise.

Given the time constraints, I do think you might *oughta* do the initial stripping/etc. the night before, hey you're gonna polish anyhow. It's a way to do what you can to put those ~7 hours to the most efficient use.

Cool. I bought F*UPP a long time ago and never really used any. Glad I held on to it.

Just checked the weather for this weekend... 30% rain. In Chicago, thats almost a guarantee :(

D'oh!! I'm gonna have to claim ignorance! I know nothing, and I can prove it... go ahead, ask me anything. :p

So... I've decided that since my time is limited, I'm going to spend the majority of the time polishing (since thats more important) and forgo the full Zaino treatment til next time. I ordered Z8 + other stuff and they aren't getting delivered til Monday.

I'm going to use F*UPP (spray)... wait for it to sure and see if I can get a layer of 915 on there before the car show (starts at noon).

I assume F*UPP can go over the protection left by ZAIO (used for my jeweling step)?

The only UPP you have is the spray, right? I'd prefer the regular UPP *topped* with the spray, but the spray alone oughta work OK over the ZAIO.

I *DO NOT* think I'd try to do a quickie application of 915. Noting that I've never used it (only their 845 and 476S), if you got the "Collinite paste wax pseudo-holograms" at the last moment it' royally [mess] things up. I don't know if using 915 after the UPP might do that or or not..but I wouldn't want to risk it in your situation.

So I'd polish it up really well, do the ZAIO, and top with the UPP spray. Quick and easy, oughta look good for the time invested.

Sounds like plan. I can test out the 915 on a fender or something :D

Just got it so I REALLY want to use it. I'm sure you know the feeling.

Heh heh, *actually*....uhm, well... :o I have yet to try a whole lot of products that're just sitting one the shelf. I think I tend to go the *opposite* way for some reason; I buy something and then have to almost *force* myself to actually use it  :nixweiss
