Advice for Starfire Pearl.

Hey everyone! (I posted this question on another section of the forums and was was hoping to get a few more suggestions.) I am totally new to the detailing world other that just applying some wax and washing the car. I have a 2009 Lexus IS 250 with Starfire Pearl. With the awesome advice of Todd from this site I recently purchased the Klasse AIO, Klasse Sealant, and Sonus fine clay and lube. I was planning on applying this all by hand as I dont have a machine polisher. The more I look at the car I notice more and more fine scratches on the front hood, fender (wiping love bugs off of the front) and trunk lid that probably came from towels . Like any one else I dont want to waste time and not get this close to right the first time. I know this is going to be difficult to answer: Is the claying and AIO going to be enough to correct some of these swirls/scratches? I have read tons of reviews on the Klasse product and confident about using it. Just maybe something else I may be missing. Any ideas or history working with this tri-color paint would be great. Fire away!! Thanks in advance

Claying will not remove any swirls or scratches. It will simply clean the surface making it smoother.

KAIO is a chemical cleaner that leaves a base layer for KSG. So by hand I would not expect it to remove any swirls either. With the right hand applicator it might do some correction but that will be more pad dependent.

I have noticed a few people seeing and showing that KSG with enought applied layers seems to do some minor filling. But I would not count in it.

there are other aio products out there that can actually do minor corrections. for example,
BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal great for light scratches and very easy to use.
Meguiars Paint Reconditioning Cream D151 is great for heavier defects. also, if you are applying by hand, there are different pads out there that will assist in any corrections, such as CCS Euro Foam Hand Applicators Trio - You Pick!
eventually, save and get yourself a good da polisher. the results you get by hand will never equal a properly machined finish. it'll be one purchase you'll never regret. :)

Thanks guys! Since I have already purchased the KSG Kit can this be applied after swirl remover/reconditioning products? If so, whats recommended thats not already mentioned above for this type paint? Or does it not really matter? I am not opposed to and strongly considering purchasing a DA polisher from Home Depot. Just being completely new to all this I didnt know if that may be a little more advanced for the time being and I just dont have the facilities (i.e. a garage) to do extensive work. Thanks again.

Absolutely, the Klasse combo can be used after any correction steps if you would choose to go that direction.

If you are thinking of picking up a DA polisher or entire kit, check out the store as there are a lot of good options.

So I stopped by a local detail shop here in Charleston SC and after the point of contact looked at the car I was quoted $100 to compound the entire car. Then $75 to wet sand and buff each panel that really needed it. (trunk lid, rear quarter panel, and front bumper ....which they made it seem may be more due to it being plastic) The $285 to Opti Guard the entire car and $685 to install an 18" clear bra. (includes the bumper and mirrors) I am weighing the costs of purchasing a DA polisher, supplies, and it seems that I may be better off, initially, to just have that done locally and then apply the Klasse Kit. Really because I dont have garage to do it myself. But...wet sanding...really?? I hope to get some pics in a few days so you guys can see and give me your opinions.
