Wow, lots of great info there!

Make sure you let the rest of Autopia know when the book is complete. I'd sign up for an advanced copy. I love guerrilla marketing. :2thumbs:

The book will be 14 chapters and I have 9 of them written (first draft). It's getting there.

I'm new to this business as well and did my first few jobs from Craigslist for only $100 asking price. They paid me $150 though. Im with you in regards to the incentives in that I have no business so what can I offer. Im getting ready to do another vehicle tomorrow and will be posting a new ad with before and after pics along with my own vehicle. For an incentive I was thinking about once finished with the job saying that Id give them a free bottle of Meguiars Quick Detailer and microfiber towel for a referral. That incentive package should only be just 5 or $6 so I'll let you know how it works.

Yea I would love to check out your book too when completed. That was a very helpful chapter and knowledge is very powerful. That kind of knowledge is especially powerful in our industry.

Thank you

Yes it is funny how much work you can get out of CL. Most likely you will end up doing a crap load of dead end jobs. But all you need is 4-5 outta the 50 that become great customers. :2thumbs:

Will your book be published? If so, how much? :goodjob

Still not sure how I plan to publish this book. I'm writing another at the same time.

The Craigslist book will my 7th book. The others are all computer science related. This is my first attempt at writing anything for sales and marketing. :nervous2:

Can anyone say Entrepreneur?? Sheesh just from the few days I've been on this site, I see you have a lot of stuff going on. Your motivation is motivating!

:goodjob

Craigs list did not do much if anything for me. Lots of players on CL so just be sure you will get paid BEFORE you do the job. In general the net is not doing much for me. I spent oodles of dollars for a web site with over 200 photos of before and afters that are updated monthly. It is good for a reference but it is not generating great revenue per say.

Seeing as how I am in Toledo and everyone is feeling the economy, I posted about a month ago and got one person email me. I gave him a price estimate and he never contacted me back. So CL is not good for me right now. I need to get on it with more effort once the weather warms up.

yeah craigslist doesn't really seem to do a whole lot. I mean it might get a couple peoples attention but for the most part it isn't a money generator.
