Advance Auto now carries Megs gold glass clay kit

I work for an Advance Auto and about a week ago we started carrying Megs gold glass clay kit. For $17.77 you kit 2 (yes 2) white clay bars 1 gold mf towel 16oz of qd and some paint cleaner. I thinks it's a better deal then the mothers clay kit for $16.77. Just giving peeps a heads up in case you need a otc clay.

How big is each bar? Is the MF towel the 16 x 24 Supreme towels that Megs sell separately?
 
i saw it. had no idea it came with 2 bars and a towel... i figued it was the same as their old kit, just different box.

About the same size of the mothers bar IIRC. Not sure on the size of the mf towel.
 
I looked for it at two different Advance Auto's around here and neither had the kit, but I found a Clay Magic kit at Auto Zone for $9.99. Blue clay and a bottle of clay lube. I'm not sure of the sizes because I'm at work but I'll check when I get home.
 
The Clay Magic kit is a 12 oz. lube and 100 mg. blue clay, no extras. Says clay made in Japan all over it.

That is a pretty good deal for OTC clay. It's not amazing, because each bar is only 50 grams (at least according to ppl on meguiar's forums), but it's still a pretty good price considering it comes with a Supreme Shine MF and a bottle of QD. Thanks for the heads up!
 
Well if the bars are 50 grms than you don't get any more clay than with the Clay Magic kit because that bar is 100 grms. The Mothers kit has a 80 grm bar.
 
Hmmm, here it claims to be two 5oz. bars...if that is true, this is an amazing deal!! Even if it is just 50gms apiece (IDK which it is now), it is still a better deal than the Mothers kit because it also includes 20gms more clay and a Supreme Shine MF.
 
thats what is says. I will buy one of these next time. I have not bought the expensive clay bars from boutiques becasue i feel its not worth it. I will check this out ASAP :ermm: if this true then this is the best deal on clay anywhere. :yes:

Ooh... that smooth surface kit is the new 2006 product. Does this mean Advance also has the Quik Interior Detailer wipes? I really want some of those....

I went to Murrays Auto Parts to pick up the Megs New Clay.$25.00 +.
$17.00 @ Advance Auto. Talk About A Price difference..
 
Nither Murray's or Advance has the clay kits yet... but I did grab some QID wipes from Advance the other day. $6 for one container that will probably last me 3 months or so (since I still will use the regular product and an MF too). Not bad.

When i called advance auto the guy on the phone didn't know the kits were stocked they also had the quick inter wipes but i didn't buy'em. QID (quick interior wipes?)

If that's true then it is a good deal. Each 5 oz. is a lot of clay, much more than 100 grams if I'm not mistaken.

I opened the kit up yesterday and did see the same Supreme MF towel I purchased separately from Megs. I believe it's the same size...I'll try to find out.
