Added a coat of DP MaxWax, and sorry I did

I'm sure this is a good wax, but compared to the results I received from EX-P alone, I am dissatisfied.

I put 2 coats of DP Maxwax on my 1999 Pewter Z28 last week, and the reflection and shine were incredible. I planned to cover it with weekly coats of Maxwax thereafter to bring some depth to the paint.

The Maxwax definitely added depth, but seriously muted the reflection and shine.

Pics of just EX-P... not very good with a camera

And my attempt at some better pics with a coat of Maxwax on...

Sorry, I seriously need to improve my photography skills.

Will A couple more coats of Maxwax, bring some shine back to the paint?

Or, am I better off with a straight sealant on this color?

MaxWax is really great on all colors, but specifically light colors with flakes. However, putting too many coats of wax on will tend to decrease shine. There IS such a thing as too much wax. You really only need to be waxing once every 1-2 months. Use something like Pinnacle Spray Souveran between washes to bring back shine.

I agree ... on that color I think EX-P would give it more reflection and shine. EX-P will make that color have more brightness/bling .... adding a carnauba will tend to reduce the crispness of the shine and add some warmth.

Thanks I'll remember not to wax to often. By weekly I really just meant I only have time to do it on the weekend and I wanted to get a couple coats to bring out the best shine. How many coats are considred optimal?

My paint has flake in it. Th EX-P really didn't bring it out, and I haven't used anything that really has. I do not notice much pop with the Maxwax. I don't think I really want much pop anyway, won't it decrease the reflections?

I dont meen to disagree but I have never had a problem with too much wax..I use several different waxes and apply whenever I feel the mood to and the gloss just pops everytime..

I guess it can go both ways. Ive heard people say applying multiple coats of wax is pointless because the new later will remove the old layer.
