adams techniques

I have never cleaned my engine because I'm afraid to screw something up. However, after watching the video he just sprayed the engine with SG and hosed it down not letting the stream of water stay in one place. I read a number of post saying to cover (aluminum foil, plastic bags, etc.) electrical parts before spraying cleaning and after cleaning let the engine run to dry off. Can I just spray with a degreaser and hose down? If it's as easy as Adam says I clean my engine on the next sunny day.
FYI: I have a 2000 Honda Accord

Hey there MrC,

I recently did a 2001 Accord and remember that they were sealed up pretty well. One thing to look out for is open air filters and exposed wire inlets. Of all the cars I've done, I've NEVER ran into a problem doing exactly what Adam does. I like to start the car afterwards for about 3-5 minutes, and typically will take the wet/dry vac and blow a lot of it off.

Best of luck to you, and why not take some pics while your at it!

Yea, I have a 2002 Accord and I wash the engine just like Adam in the DVD. I have Cold Air Intake so all I need to cover up is the exposed area so water doesnt get into the filter. Other than that all I do is spray APC, aggitate, and rinse then i take my shop vac and dry, then I dress it up.
