Adams Detail Spray vs. Poorboys Spray n Wipe

Hello Everyone

I was just browsing around detail city and i got thinking about what is the difference between adams detail spray and poorboys s+w.

What is the difference?

What do you prefer?

What are the pro and cons of each product?

Thanks

Greg

I haven't tried both... Only the PB's S&W.

S&W is something that I'll have in my detailing arsenal for a long time to come. It's an EXCELLENT product that allows me to 'QD' my truck when, typically, I'd probably have to wash it.

It's high lubricity formula is the difference between about 30 minutes of my time and at least 3 hours of my time (wash vs. QD).

I buy it by the gallon...

RP :D

Adam's Detail Spray has gloss enhancers, cleans, lubricates, and its basically the best of the both worlds for QDing. (My view)

Poorboy's Spray and Wipe is a waterless wash, so its really meant to clean.

I like both very much! Steve's Spray and Gloss in the future will be something to look forward too definitely. However Adam's DS glosses amazingly and makes the paint incredibly slick!

I like both as well, but I would give the nod to Adams' Detail Spray because of the gloss enhancers and slickness of paint. Just buy both.

Could somebody clarify for me really quick what s&w really is? I have the general idea, but im not sure if i got it right. Its basically just like QEW right? as in, i could use it to wash inbetween real washes or to "spot" wash or use as a quick detailer?

-I just want to be sure before I place an order. I would mainly use it for the areas that get really dirty between washes( behind the tires, top of back bumper, etc.)

QEW is used with a bucket (preferably 2) a mitt and a towel. It's applied with the mitt and wiped off with the towel. It's basically a regular wash without the hose/rinse.
S+W is a cleaner in a bottle. You spray it on the surface, wait a few seconds, and wipe it off with a MF. It's much quicker than QEW (for me, at least). You can use it in the parking lot while you're waiting for your significant other. Not so likely to do that with QEW. S+W can be added with a gloss enhancing QD to get cleaning and some extra sparkle. (The new Spray and Gloss is likely this combination.) S+W can be used on lightly dusty cars as well as more dirty cars (using more product/MF's, of course).
Some people prefer to use S+W for light dirt, QEW for moderate dirt, and a wash for caked on mud. Some are comfortable using S+W for the first 2 and not needing QEW. Up to individual preference.

(S+W can also be used around the house as a spot cleaner. Mixed 1:1 with water it makes a good glass cleaner that works on "hot" windshields.)

In my experience using both products, S&W has better cleaning ability as far as disolving or loosening the dirt that is on the car. When using Adams as a pure cleaner, It seemed like some of the dirt was being pushed around and not pulled into the Micro Fiber. Adams is a much better cleaner than any other QD I have used but still not quite as good as Spray and Wipe. The real magic of Adams Detail Spray is in the gloss it leaves behind and with less wiping than most other QDs. It actually adds gloss, wetness and depth to any wax or sealant I have used it on. I clean with S&W and do a quick once over with Adams for an awesome look.
Just my opinions and yours may vary :)

:yeah

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have been using the 2 products together for a "full QD". I was lucky enough to get a prototype sample of Poorboy's Spray & Gloss and found that it leaves a slicker finish than Adam's...it also really enhances the flake. In terms of gloss & shine they were so close I couldn't say one was better than the other on my car.

I love both products and I echo the comments already stated above. Adam's DS adds more gloss, while PB's S&W appears to have more lubricity and "lifts" dirt off better. I joined the "5-gallon club" of S&W last month, and also picked up two 1-gallon jugs of Adam's DS last month. If I had heard that there would be a 5-gallon container of Adam's DS coming out, I WOULD have gotten that instead!

Now, has anyone mixed S&W and Adam's DS together? Last week, when one of my spray bottles with S&W was getting low, I decided to fill it with Adam's DS instead. The bottle now has a mix of 25% S&W and 75% Adam's DS, and a purplish "grape" color! I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet, but the resulting solution does have more lubricity then Adam's DS by itself, and leaves a much glossier finish than S&W by itself. Hmm.......

I've tried a half & half mixture, but found it didn't do enough cleaning for my tastes. 3 parts S&W to 1 part Adams got the best results with mixing them, but using S&W then Adams yields the best results by far.

And in two weeks you can buy Poorboys Spray & Gloss too. :LOLOL

Ahhhhhhh, these detail guys are making me broke!! (not really-hehehehehe)

So it's only two weeks until Spray and Gloss? Holy crap. :bigups

I have both PB S&W and just picked up 2 gallons of Adams DS.
Having just gone through some rain, I can attest that S&W does clean my car very well as a waterless wash.

I just tried some of Adams DS as a waterless wash on my neighbors truck that just got back from traveling in mountain snow. It easily cleaned that truck, plus added a slick gloss finish.

I dont know guys/gals....Adams DS rose to the occasion on cleaning this truck, plus I get the bonus of a gloss finish. While I love to try different products, I really see no need to keep two like products on my limited shelf space.
Adams, for me, will be my go to QD/Waterless wash. If I need anything stronger, it would appear a regular wash would be in order.

This is my opinion only, and remember, its worth what you paid for it !

These are both great products but both serve different purposes. I have them both and like them a lot. SW is a waterless wash. Adam’s is a nice QD spay. I have found through experimenting lately that I can use SW in colder temperatures. By that I mean down to around 20 degrees. I can not use Adams however at those temperatures. As a side note I was able to use QEW with great results in temperatures down to 25 degrees. I really wanted to push the envelope of these three great products. All are AWSOME when used to their strengths.
