Acura Factory Exhaust tips???

I own an 03' Acura CL Type S and would like to clean up the factory chrome exhaust tips?? I have already clayed them and got alot of dirt off them. Can I use one of the Meguiars metal posihes(NXT) on them. The only question I am not sure about is if the tips have a clear coat on them and the metal polsih will take it off??

Pretty sure the tips are just stainless steel. I have an Acura TL-S and I just polish them with any metal polish I have lying around. I seriously doubt any paint outside the barbecue grill type can withstand the high temps.
