This new to my client Acura was a salesmen’s demo for 3 weeks. Client said it had a few issues and wanted it fixed. Normal poor washing damage and a spot that had been touched up. Corrected with Griot’s correction cream on a fast cut foam pad, refined with perfecting cream on the yellow perfecting pad and final polish with Modesta primer on a black finishing pad. Coated paint with Modesta BC08, wheels, glass and trim with polish angel products. Tires with Griot’s black satin coating. Thanks for looking!

Mike:
EVERY time I see your pics of badly damaged dealer vehicles, the tail light plastic looks scratched and swirled.
Is there a certain pad, and compound/polish combination and what techniques and methodologies do you use to get "perfectly" corrected tail light plastic??
I would assume that this may also apply black plastic door pillar trim. Just curious... or as we say "Inquiring (Autopian) minds want to know"

In all honesty I don’t have a secret. I use the same products I use for paint, however in the interest of residue control I just feel that I should use a separate set of pads for the plastic. I don’t know if it is needed but I feel better about not contaminating the pads I use for paint with plastic residue.

I do use a bit slower speed if I use the 15 if the lenses are large enough. If not I use the I brid or most times I use the Griot’s 6 inch machine with 3 inch pads.

Lonnie,
Mike is really good at this no doubt !!!

I have used Meguiars 105 on a foam pad for over a decade and achieved those results..
Of course, M105 is a lot more abrasive, but that means its also faster, and it really finishes down beautifully..

And under that little door cup space behind the door handles, M105 on a white, cotton towel, a little moist, rubbed in by hand will always give you beautiful paint Dan F

After being exposed to Griot’s fast cut cream, I can say I’ll most likely not go back to any meguiars compounds.

Mike - is that due to dusting from 105? I agree Griots does not dust like M105 but if mixed with some 205, that does help a bit. Never tried M100 or 101.

Mi Amigo El Grungy !

M105 will only dust if you work it too long without adding a spritz of something.. Most compounds, probably all compounds, etc., will dust if run until they dry up.. :)
That`s why I have always made sure to keep M105 moist enough to get passed its initial, dry up spell, and then it keeps working and working until you finish it down beautifully..

Heck I even used M105 and M205 with Lake Country Purple Foam Wool and then L/C White foam pads on several BMW Jet Black and Lexus Jet Black vehicles with very damaged paint and got this paintwork incredibly clear, glossy and flat..

I`m glad Mike found a product that he likes so much more than the Meguiar`s products, but they are still working great for a lot of people.

At a very Auto Detailer-focused Sherwin-Williams Automotive Paint Store in Bellevue, WA., I always had a hard time purchasing M105, and one day I asked them, "why are you always out of it??" And they replied, "we sell the heck out of Meguiars M105 to people that build Fire Trucks and Ambulances, they use it to finish these vehicles after they paint them, we can barely keep up with their supply alone"..
Oh, one more thing, these people ( and of course, yours truly), all use Rotary Power.. :)

Dan - that would be near a fairly famous detail shop in Redmond I believe :) John is a real nice guy. I`ll have to watch more KB with M105 videos (master of lots of detailing) now that I have a Rupes vs my underpowered Porter Cable.

I’ve used all the meguiars compounds, just got tired of having to add things to make it work better, never have to do that with Griot’s and you can work them as long as you need to without dust and the abrasives never go away.
