i have a 2006 acura mdx in right now (black) the customer and I have agreed on a one step correction. So after i washed, I taped off a test spot and tried po85rd on a 5.5in white ccs pad via pc7424xp. it kinda did the job but is there any other combo that would work better.

-thanks, Nick.

:think:thank you and the other problem was that once i get a panel polished, the microfiber that i use, mares up the paint too. this is some really soft paint.. i have worked on hondas before and dont ever remember having to be so careful

M80/white works wonders on those super soft Acuras and Hondas. It does have glaze in it but it also has the same cut as 205 so you get the same correction and the glaze will protect from marring with the MF.

u should of have some practice polishing more before talking somebody car.

Wall-Mart has good towels for 5 bucks, each pack has eight towels. Wipe gently with low pressure, it will take you longer to wipe residue off but it will not mare. hope it helps!

Weird my moms Acura mdx has hard clear I think it's 08 or 07.. And has minimal to no swirling.

Its dark color so they would be visible but I never see them

thanks guys. customer picked up the vehicle today and she was very impressed. i used white ccs and m205. that seemed to do 80% or so correction. i was shocked how soft it was (never seen anything like it)

thanks again for the input,

-Nick.

For future reference, DP's Poli-Lock Sealant is pretty good as a true one step if the paint needs minimal correction.

I read first post and was going to say 205 on white or green. CAn you share us pictures.. good choice if customer was very pleased!

For me, a good 1-step combo on soft paint has been M205/red(crimson) lake country hydro pad. It's a bit less aggressive than a white pad and works great for soft paints. I do a lot of Porsche jet black paints and it does wonders correction wise, plus leaves the paint glossy and not dull.

btw do not forget to do an alcohol wipe down (50% water) because 205 has oils in it. It will look good before the alcohol but after the alcohol you will sea the real results.

I've also found the crimson pad to work great with M205 on softer paints. :)

good thing you knew about that, when i was learning year ago i didnt thought it was needed and after sun came out oils got evaporated and i had to redo like half a car. ohh and btw i didnt even know what my DA was capable of-i thought it was just for applying sealant or wax. i was using rotary. :yell::grinno:
