Acrylic Sealer = Future Floor Wax

Floor Sealer on the paint? Wheel and trim wells maybe, but, seriously, not trying to offend anyone, but surely you guys arent THAT brave are you? Also, Floor acrylic is made to "bond" with very porous Materials , such as varnished wood, tiles, and of course vinyl flooring. Automotive paint is denser and smoother (hopefully) than floor coverings, so will the floor sealer even bond with clearcoat? This is an imaginative thread to be sure ! :)

I went with the idea of Guess My Name, to use it on trim & plastic... I have paint sealants, thank you. But on GMN's Avalanche it looks good... and knowing about GM's plastic problems it is even better.

NOT on paint.....

on the plastic cladding parts....

PIA to apply and I am perfecting that technique....but my original coat is still holding up after a whole bunch of rain storms....

Very happy to date.....

just make sure the applicator is dry...and no water.....else it gets trapped and looks like crap and you have to start over....

Extremely happy still with first application...

Looks like the day I applied it....

This stuff is a godsend for those with cladding on their vehicles...

no more white chalky appearance....and lasts...longer then my zaino...hehehe

Okay........I'm sorry.......Normally I take the high road & respect others opinions. But in this case......." Are you freak'n kidding me????" lol

I suspect an acrylic floor wax may look good on some wheel wells/plastic and not on others.

In time ( so many products, not enough time :( ) I wish to try the clear Trim-A-Shield from Trimonex. I contacted them asking if they'd thought it'd do OK on wells. They weren't even sure but I think it's worth a shot because it made for plastic cladding and is supposed to last quite a while through all weather and washings.

Thanks for the update. I'd been wondering how it was going.

Not sure what you mean here?

Yeah...I put Future floor wax on my PLASTIC body cladding....

And yeah...it looks great...and now is the item I need to do the least with as it pertains to detailing.....the paint needs more love and attention....as the future lasts longer then zaino or klasse and definitely wax......

try it...if you have plastic trim....

This is not for paint....but TRIM

I would take pictures.....but no reason...as they look like the original pictures....AMAZING stuff

Guess my name,

First of all, i really admire your willingness to try such wildly experimental ideas. People might knock your idea for now, but so far it looks like you're in good standing to get the last laugh and to be able to say "i told you so!" like how scottwax did with qew. :)

I was wondering if you found this product to darken trim? I have dark grey trim on an old honda that has whitened (a lot of crusted wax in the textured areas that i never got around to removing). Do you think future would get rid of the whitening and make the trim look blacker?

I'd like to thank HRP, who initially called my attention to the whole Mop & Glo on plastic and wells idea. I never tried the Future, in time I ought to pick it up for the hell of it . Might save me from trying the Trim-A-Shield :nixweiss

For cleaning the trim of old wax build up, no matter what you wind up topping it with in the end, I'd say it's probably best to try the dedicated trim cleaner, GR-40.

Yes it darkened it back to brand new look

Driver side...Sorry no pic of passenger side...

Lighting is different...but trust me....it looks like it did the day I drove it home...3 2/3 years ago........

I have not thought to use in wheel wells...and will try this on the plastic in there...but not the undercoating stuff in the rear....

PS...I found a similar product even cheaper...

DOLLAR GENERAL..has their brand for $2.50.....Should last me for life.......

I am going to detail this weekend....and since I first applied it for testing...and did not have technique down....I might strip and start over....since otherwise...all Iwill have to do is clean and apply...maybe KLASSE this time...hehehe
