Acid strength clear coat eating worms...

Nope! This is not a science fiction movie.



Every spring these little wormee things land on my hood

from under the tree and bond quickly to my clear coat.

They are orange/tan in color and about a quarter inch in

length. I think they're too small for bird droppings.



Any how these alien things eat in to my clear coat in

minutes to hours. Reminds me of the alien in Alien that

popped out the dudes stomach and burn through multi

layers of the space ship.



They come out after time with a blow torch, clay, and paint

cleaners but what a PITA.



What the hell are these things? Anyone know what the heck

I'm talkin about?
 
Some trees give off some wormy looking things that can land on cars, add a little water and it'll probably make a nice mess to have to clean off.



Perhaps you could get a picture.

I know exactly what you mean. The first week I had my car I parked it behind a house in the open (no covered garage). One day after it had rained I noticed something to what you described on my sunroof. I wiped it off thinking it was some weird bird bomb and didn't think much of it til now. Luckily my baby was in the open only for one week. Now she's in a nicely paved, indoor garage :)
 
Rd Volvo.. you are on the right track with "droppings"...



What you are seeing is bee poop!



Every spring, the lovely new flowers emerge and the busy little bees collect pollen for their nectar...they can "drop trou" so to speak while in flight. What you are seeing on your car is the result of bees that have no problem with constipation!



You don't have to park under trees to get them...anything in their flight path is a target!
 
I think your right!



My car sits right under a cherry blossom

tree and for the last 4 weeks the house and neighborhood

has been one big bee fest. These bee poops stick like glue.

I's been using my thumbnail to intricately extract them.



I don't think I'm using my finger any more. EEEWWUUUU!



I now have to contend not only with bird dung but now

also with Bee dung. How's the song go :



" The birds and the bees, the flowers and the trees "
