Accident!!!!

I'm glad your alright, good thing she isn't in durham, she would've gotten sited with reckless endangerment (careless driving), if she was on a cell phone then thats a crime here too, and she would've gotten the lane change violation, and I got this one when I hit a car once (8 yrs ago) failure to yeild to another car.

so all in all she could've gotten 4 sitations and been faced with jail time on 2 of them.....move to durham nc, the crime rate kinda sucks but hey....good drivers are hard to find ;)

Thank god your pride and joy was the only thing hurt here. I hope you get your car fixed, but at the end of the day, don't let anyone give you the whole "it's only a car" thing. cuz it's not "a" car. It's Your Car!

anyway, Sorry guys, I take the cake. I live in Jersey. If you go north, you find NYC type drivers . South, you get Philly drivers. Central you get Trenton drivers. I live in Cherry Hill, where everyone drives their parent's BMW's or Benzes like they're entitled to drive like asses. Passing school busses on the right, pulling out in front of my box-truck only to slam on the brakes, stopping on off/on ramps, weaving, and the likes are local practices.

Did I mention I was run over in my parking lot of my apartment complex 3 weeks ago?

yaaaaaaaaaaay jerzeeee!

Just got the estimates done yesterday since I was in Milwaukee on business last week. One came in a $1600, but didn't include 5 days of a rental car, the other $1800. The guy who quoted $1800 was really nice (and was the owner of the company) and I'd really like to give him my business, but it all depends on what her insurance company gives. They could really be peckers and give less than the $1600, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Looks like they need to:

*Replace Fender & Hub Cap (and possibly the wheel)

*Repai/Refinish Front Bumper

*Blend Door & Hood

*Wet Sand/Buff Headlight

*4 Wheel Alignment

*Remove/Overhaul all trim on refinished surfaces

Am I close?

Pretty close. They are replacing the hub cap and fender completely. Then blending the door and hood since the 1/4 panel is wide. The headlight is getting replaced, but the scratches could be buffed out...I plan on taking off the HL before they get it (the tabs aren't broken or anything...this way I'll have a spare for whatever reason :idea). They are going to check the front-end alignment as well. Otherwise, that's pretty much it.

Make sure they do a 4 wheel alignment. The rear is adjustable and should be checked/compared. Definitley keep the light.

Are they using any used (LKQ/Salvage) or Aftermarket parts?

What Insurance company is paying the claim?

You're not planning on going to one of their "Preferred" "Direct Repair Shops" are you???

No, I'm not going to one of their insurance shops...they have rediculous stipulations on that anyways (only 2 hours a day at places more than 40 miles from my house AND work). They are going to order genuine Honda parts since the car is so new (4 months and 19k miles!). Insurance company is a crappy online company, Universal Casualty:doh

It has gotten increasingly worse here in the Charlotte area in the last couple of years.

+1

Columbia, SC isn't much better either. But driving in Chalotte now make me feel ill. completely senseless motoring.

Sorry to hear what happened at least no injuries. Oregon is rated most courteous drivers...

I just moved to Bend, Oregon about three weeks ago and I have to agree with this. I have been pleasantly surprised at how courteous the local drivers are.

Also glad to hear that there were no injuries!

My parents are in Northern Jersey...they are the WORST drivers...pulling to the right to make a left turn.....going 25 in a 35....NYC has MAJOR traffic...but for the most part we are good drivers....though rarely courteous...lol....you let one person in and everyone will look to take advantage...lol

On a side note....down South people are very courteous drivers...IMO....

Oregon drivers can be nice but sometimes it can interfere with things....for example 4-way stops. :argue

I'm in Minnesota. To give you an idea of how bad the drivers are here...

I look forward to driving in Chicago, Boston and Manhattan. The cabbies of those cities drive better than Minnesotans.

[FONT=&quot]And that's probably because they have very strict driving laws! I think its funny how some studies say that increasing the speed limit decreases fatalities and accidents(not that I know its true for sure, but seems logical), but we still have 55mph speed limits around the city here...sometimes I think its purely because of revenue (tickets) but whenever traffic is holed up, you can always count on it being the driver that actually is going the speed limit!

Heh, I was also going to mention Sweden, they have relatively strict rules, but people are friendly and polite also..Lets you pass if you flash your high beams, always thank you and things like that..

Sorry to hear about your accident, good thing only the company car got hurt and not you..

Annoying in Florida are drivers that think there is a speed limit driving the on ramp to enter I-4. They seem to think 45 is the fastest they should go, and 55 when they get on the road when everyone on I-4 is doing 75+.

nailzer - You should come to S. Florida. Nothing but a melting put of the world's crappiest drivers = hatiatians w/o DL / latins that drive like they're getting chased by the police / New Yorkers that think they're driving in downtown NYC / elderly people that just shouldn't be on the road anymore. Regular, safe drivers are definately in the minority.
