I contacted blackcarwoes about getting a detail a little while ago, and yesterday was the day. :waxing: :waxing: :waxing: It had a huge collection of swirl marks and a remarkable amount of dried wax on the trim from the crappy local detail shop. Graduate school has left it pretty bad off and if im honest, it hadn't even seen wax in the past 7 months. :nervous: About 80k miles if rough Houston streets.

Sadly most of the before pictures didn't come out well, but heres a good one of the hood, with horrible holograms and swirling.

and the after, with a bit of dust from sitting out over night.

again, excuse the dust... didn't have time to wipe it down before the pics, and the oil change guy got his grubby hands on it. :bawling:

Forgot I still had the hood popped on this one, but its still a great shot with the overcast sky.

I'll try to dig up some more before pics, but the transformation was remarkable. He picked it up at 9:00 and dropped it off at 8:30 ish. It needed a HUGE amount of work, and he did an amazing job in such a short time. I'll let him post on what products he used, as I forgot to ask the details. If anyone is looking for a Houston area detailer be sure to give him a message, I couldn't be happier with the results.

Looks good Cory, It was pitch black when I finished so I couldn't do a sun check, but from those pics it looks like it turned out pretty good.

Process:

Soak in mixture of APC,NXT for 5 mins.

NXT wash

CLAY, CLAY, CLAY.....

3M PI-III RC (05933?) and MIP with Lake Country Yellow(Cut) 7.5 VC via Rotary (most areas 3-4 four passes)

106FF/FPII 70/30 with Lake Country White(Polish) 7.5 VC via Rotary ( two passes )

50/50 ISO wipedown.

IW 845 as LSP since it wont be getting much love from sitting outside in Houston/Katy.

Trim

Forever Black concentrated cleaner with magic eraser.

Aero 303

Tires

Nothing-22 miles to transport car back to owner. Putting on dressing would been a bloody mess going through I-10 construction.

Overall, I am satisfied with the car, but not entirely happy, I could of easily spent an another 5 hours, but then again, the car will be sitting outside so aiming for a 80-90% was ok.

Cory, it was a pleasure working on the car, there was a roll cage in the back.... anything you weren't telling me?

2.6 stroker can be pretty fun over 4k. :grinno: Far cry from my other focus though.

Another of the door before hand.... ouch.
