? about Zaino

I think I am going to "zaino" my car this weekend. Now everything I have read from Zaino and on the web states that I should use 100% cotton towels for polishing. Has anyone used towles other than 100% cotton? I have some real nice microfibers I bought from Auto Geek and thought about using them.

Thanks

This is one point that I don't agree with Sal Zaino on. I ONLY use high quality microfiber on the paint work with Zaino.

You should be fine using quality microfibers. I know Sal Zaino is a 100% Made in the USA Cotton guy but NUMEROUS Zaino users on here have been using microfibers with no problems.

Don't forget, according to the site (or at least last time I read which was at leat 12 months ago) the terry towels have to be made in America:nervous:

FWIW I have only used MF with Zaino - no problems yet!:xyxthumbs

I thought that microfiber would be fine, I was just wondering why "100% cotton Made in USA" is suggested and not a quality microfiber.

Thanks for all the input

100% cotton, it will not scratch the paint. Swissvax sells cotton towels too. Although I prefer microfiber like almost any one I know.

I think he started making that recommendation 1) before quality microfiber was common and 2) before "Made in USA" was uncommon.

I agree.

I'd bet that was how Sal tried to keep some quality control in the process to make sure the end result was great. Can you imagine the reputation any product (or company) would get if people used a generic, poor quality towel because they thought all towels were the same?

Microfiber is such a generic term that has such wide variations in quality that the blanket statement "microfiber is okay" could have poor results in the hands of many consumers.

Just my two cents,

Randy

I have also used MF to remove Zaino many times.

I am probably wrong, but i thought his reasoning was that MF was too aggressive in the removal of his product, meaning that it would remove a lot of product that cotton would not.

I have also used cotton that did not scratch.

I have not ordered from DF towel, and quite frankly I am scared too now

Hey, you know if you order DF towels from PakShak you will promptly get what you ordered. There is also that other place I found that I linked in that thread, I don't if anyone has any experience with them.
