I saw some 100% cotton towels that are made in the USA at Wal mart last night they are made by Jubilee. Anyone have any experience with these they feel pretty soft and are the only USa 100% cotton towel in the store. I want to use these per SCottwax technique for polishing? Any on ehave problems with these do you think they would work well? Thanks in advance:)

Yeah, i saw those too, but never bought any. I was wondering the same thing, they say terrycloth right on 'em, but it is wally world, so im kinda wonderin.

Buy them, then wash and dry them. Make sure your dryer screen is completely clean before putting the towels in. When they are dry, take the lint and burn it. If it burns completely, they are cotton and safe. If most of it burns and some of it melts, enjoy your new tire towels.

My guess is that 100% cotton is 100% cotton, but you can't be too careful.

You want cotton terrys? Get the pack of 48 at Costco. They are dirt cheap, about 25 cents a towel.

I washed and dried them and did the burn test - all cotton.

Best terry for the money, hands down.

I on the other hand did purchase the towels. They are extremely soft. As a matter of fact I have been several other places and checked out their terry's, and Wal-Marts are softer. I think there pretty nice. I played around with them doing a little polishing and they seem OK. Did'nt do the burn test though.

Do the burn test.

Soft to hand does not equal soft to paint. Heck, my MFs grab at the surface imperfections of my hand and don't seem all that soft to me. However, I've been "polishing" my hands with Lava soap. It really levels out the surface. :D
