About to buy the VX5000/VM3000 Vapor Cleaner opinions?

Daimer 1500C here as well.



I've used the steamer many times per week for five years and have not been disappointed in the slightest. We've used it on everything from interior details to undercarriage cleaning on 80 year old vehicles with great efficiency.



The most fragile part of the machine is the hose which is starting to break down at both connections. Admittedly, we haven't treated it extremely well in the way it was stored while in the back of my van. I'll try harder to take care of the replacement hose...



It's definitely a moderate investment but it's super versatile and has very high quality construction.
 
I don't know what I'd do without my steamer.... Dupray Hill Injection has served me very well since I upgraded into it at the beginning of the year.
 
I was considering the vx-5000 or the upgraded hose model that Renny Doyle, Attention to details sells.



Good to hear that these heavier duty units, such as the Daimer 1500C and the Dupray Hill Injection are holding up well.



Others with long term experience with there own steamer feel free to chime in here. Knowing that others have had multiple year experience with a steamer in heavy use would make the substantial purchase easier to make knowing that the durability is there.

Really? I didnt even know you owned one... Should I buy the VX5000?
 
Had my VX5000 for awhile now, great product! And there is a very easy way to reinforce the hose on it via Greg Nichols design. ATD does give you training and a loaner if you have enough volume to justify the extra service.

Depends on what you'll be using it for... I debated between the VX5000 and Dupray for a while, ultimately the Dupray won out due to it being continuous fill and having higher pressure output. Although I do find myself taking advantage of both features quite a bit, I think the VX5000 is a solid choice if the Dupray is outside your budget.
 
I've had my vx5000 for a 8-9 months and it has done everything I expected it to do without any problems. I have also thought about installing the hose cover that Greg Nichols made and has posted about when I have the time.

I had the VX5000 and it was great. The attachments were better suited to auto detailing than my new machine. My one complaint is that the pressure did seem to be a little weak. Not having the continuous fill feature was never a problem if you filled the machine before each use...I cant imagine burning through an entire tank of water on one car.

Whereas I, OTOH, run through a full tank quite often (and my 1500C holds a lot of water) and appreciate the continuous fill. My other steamer doesn't have it, and it's a hassle for me.

Same here. I sometimes run through a couple full tanks on a car, though my Dupray doesn't hold anywhere near as much water as the 1500C.



It all depends on how you use it/what you use it for, how much crud needs to be removed, etc.

Much as I'm always touting my Daimer, there are times when my "lesser" steamer is just right for a certain job. Really hard to predict what somebody *else* is gonna like/need so all we can do is point out our varying experiences so people can make the best choice.



It's not some right/wrong kind of thing, other than getting something reliable, safe, and effective for the intended use...but then again, that *can* be a right/wrong situation, thinking how my cheap steamers scalded me but good when they broke and how a unit that simply won't do the intended job is pretty much worthless.
