i just got my pinnacle XMT polishing pad conditioner and cleaner. the conditioner has little bits of what almost looks like mold floating in it. is this normal? i don't want to use it if it's moldy and gross.

I just ran out and checked mine, and I have nothing like that in mine....I would call AG, I am guessing that is where you got it from...Once you get it working, you will like it.

i thought so. at first i thought maybe they were supposed to help mix things up when you shake it, but then i saw that they looked kinda fuzzy, like mold. I wonder how this would happen, shouldn't they have checked everything before they shipped it? maybe it happened in the eight days it took for it to get from florida to california.

Mine does NOT have that. I now use a QD for conditioner, its a lot cheaper

thanks for your help everybody. I have already been contacted by someone at autogeek and they are taking care of this for me.

Instead of making a new thread, I thought I would piggyback onto this one now that the issue seems resolved:

Does the XMT cleaner work any better than would regualr dish soap and a vigorous hand-cleaning in the sink?

I'm not overly impressed with the XMT pad conditioner. It works well, but not really significantly better than QD IMO especially when you consider the cost.

I do like the XMT pad cleaner though. It works really well with most polishes. I can't really say that it works better than Dawn though as I've never gone that route. IMO one of the big advantages of the XMT is that it's a spray. I just spray it on the pad when I'm done polishing and then run it under some warm water in the sink to clean. I don't have to use a bucket or let it soak.

well i received my replacement in the mail today, and it has the same fuzzy mold in it that the last one had, so i will have to contact autogeek again. they were cool enough to send me another bottle of the pad cleaner and a sample of menzerna finishing glaze and PO106FF though. I just can't figure out why it's getting moldy between florida and Me (california)

Sounds like someone at the warehouse needs to be assigned to go through their entire stock.

yeah maybe they have a bad batch. it's weird though because the stuff smells like it's mostly alcohol

If your talking about the little black balls, those should be there.

jim

if they are supposed to be there then why does the one that took eight days to get here have WAY more than the one that got here in four?

so whats the verdict? is my stuff defective or are those things supposed to be in there? only one person so far has said that theirs has those things too.
