If I am going to be using the same product on the pads is it alright not to wash them after each use? Also I have one of the orange conditioning brushes but not the spur tool and was wondering if it can be used to clean the pads also?

i always wash mine after each use (dawn power dissolver) and air dry them on the grit guard. after they are dry, i put the pads in a snap lid tote with all the other pads i have...

go to big lots, they have a wide variety of these for cheap...

in that case, just take a mf or terry cloth and push into the pad to release as much product as you can into it...

Even if you will be using them the next day you still wash them anyways?

Anal1, it is absolutely essential that you keep your pads completely clean between uses. The crap that builds up in your pads will wreck havoc on paint. Wash them and get every little bit of anything out of them that you possibly can. Then keep them in a contaminant free environment. Some people use airtight containers, I use individual zip loc bags. The buffing surface of my pads never comes into contact with anything other than my hands, the inside of a ziploc, or the surface of car paint.

To quote the great Toto Land Mach:

The 2 key procedures I always use (wether it's Sys One or 3M) is: keep my rpm between 1,000 and 1,200 rpm AND use a clean wool pad for every panel. I use a pad washer/dryer and keep pads in rotation.

If it's that important to keep your pads clean (changing pads between panels), you can imagine that the answer to your question, "Even if you will be using them the next day..." is a huge, resounding Y E S. Keeping your pads properly cared for and clean is, next to polishing technique, the most important thing about buffing.
