About 4 washes later? Streaks!

So thought I'd ask some advice, after a month of car care I noticed a I was getting water spots some how. I just don't know how to prevent them, I've even been using a Cobra MF cloth and Wolfgang Detailer spritz after the wash to try to prevent. Even though it's not extremely noticeable, it's one of those things only you notice because you're the owner; but regardless was just wondering if towels are the reason for it or something else?

The first towel I tried first two weeks was a bigger waffle weave MF towel I got from Autozone, that was a bad idea. Due to it's construction, the threads kept getting stuck in crevices and after one wash (in washing machine) the edges seemed to be coming apart already.

So lately I've been using some towel called 'Big Blue 3' it's a waffle weave MF towel, and I noticed after like half the car it's not necessarily 'absorbing' water anymore (I noticed it today). Also noticed it started to leave streaks on the later parts of drying since I wasn't really absorbing anymore.

And before each drying session I do damp the MF drying towels, this is right technique right?

So to prevent the waterspots and streaks today, I tried doing a Wolfgang detailer spritz w/ a cobra MF after drying. But for some reason I still noticed water spots, is this normal even after a detailer spray? Of if the car was not dried properly it will still leave the streaks/waterspots?

Ya I am in Tracy, California; I believe we are known to have hard water around here. We do however have a water softner system.
