Thanks Mike, I see how that was misconstrued - KB washer mod, Todd mentioned I should do it when I told him I thought the 15 sucked for correcting.
keep hearing the 15 for polishing, the 21 for correcting...might as well sell the 15 and buy the 21 since I have 4 GG machines

21 for correcting and polishing. Did Todd say to buy the 15 because it had "Detailing" written on it? Just curious the reasoning he gave you for getting the 15 over the 21 as spending 5 minutes with both will tell you that the 21 is where it's at.

I have the RUPES, and think it's a great machine. It doesn't cut like a rotary, but is certainly a lot better built than the Flex or Griots, and you notice it instantly when you pick it up.

I think the rotary finishes best, BUT this is with a lot of time invested in mastering the art. As far as finishing the Rupes 21 finishes better than forced rotation FLEX, but probably not quite as good as the shorter throw GG or Cyclo. The Cyclo may not have the best cut, but man that machine is a pleasure to use, so well balanced.

Absolutely, positively agree 100% :xyxthumbs And I don't even have the newer, better balanced, ones!
Lucky for me that it finishes out so well....not only do my results satisfy me, but I still have a reason to keep using the good ol' Model 5. I suppose the GG might do as well if I dialed in the right speed and technique, but I'd much rather just use a Cyclo.

205 fills pretty well!!! and doesnt finish down on softer paints...dont see how its labeled as Ultra-finishing polish
I will just have to go check out the 21 at detailing.com and see for myself then!
I dont think Todd is to blame, I just said hey get a rupes in my hands stat! I didnt specify which as I forgot there were two. I saw the washer mod on here in the KB thread and asked todd if he thought it was worth it and he said yes! I didnt do it to the 15 yet, sounds like i might be selling it and switching

Not everyone does the right thing when nobody is watching................but some people pull stuff in plain site and think everyone is a "Dummy" and cannot put two and two together..................... my "gotcha moment" happened right before SEMA and was cemented at a lunch in a Vegas "In & Out burger" where I had to hold my considerable temper at some of the things I was hearing in relation to "Pulling the wool over customers eyes" in relation to how the client was billed on time spent and the actual 'Time really spent" on the vehicle. Bing and I literally " Held back the hand of doom then".

IME you need to apply 2 coats of HB to start. You need to use Wolf's nano shampoo and using the nano QD spray does not hurt either.
I've had HB on our BMW for 8 months now. I've been using the Wolf's nano shampoo and then QD every other wash. I also have been using the Mean Green Rinseless product from Wolf's on occasion and I like it a lot. The car still has a high level of gloss and water beads very well in the rain. I'm not having any issues with scratch resistance, but I'm very careful around our vehicles. Chad would know best as he is testing more then a few coatings for that.

Gee, lots of, uhm....drama in the detailing world, huh?
And get this...my big epiphany about how poorly M205 finishes out was on the hardest b/c paint I've ever worked!
I dunno, I never seem to get much correction out of M205, no matter what pad I use it with :nixweiss But then the softest paint I work is on the Crown Vics, and I gather those aren't what you pros would consider "soft" by a long shot. Shows how all the Audis have warped my view of this stuff!
But yeah...I gotta get some HD, or get my PO85rd off the shelf and into use. Been finishing with my beloved 1Z, but I do believe I can get a better finish than that stuff leaves.
