Well, I have had my Flex Rotary polisher since 2002 because I never had access to the PC. But I decided to splash out and import one to Ireland. Unfortunately I also had to splash out on a transformer and extension reel as well. It must be costing 3 or 4 times more than you Stateside folks pay!!
First impressions, its not really good for cutting. The Rotary is much more effective, so I was a little disappointed. Obviously the PC is best suited for finishing car paint and applying sealants but I was hoping for something better. I put a new thread in Click and Brag where I tried the PC for cutting an Audi S3. Had to change to the rotary but finished with the PC. There might be a problem though....
Even though that was day 1, I am now wondering if I am getting the right power into the machine. I had a feeling that I was only getting the agitation and not the spinning of the pad, so I made a mark with a pencil on an edge of the backing plate. As I figured, when I apply a little pressure, its not spinning, only orbiting. Is this supposed to happen? Has anybody else checked this or does it definitely spin?
Thanks for reading. Look forward to replies...
Sweepy.
