A recent detail of a 1998 Mustang GT

This is a 1998 Mustang GT that I detailed for my older brother, that is currently up for auction on Ebay. The paint was in pretty good condition, but the paint had some very light swirls. I started by going over the car with Meguiar's #3 Machine Glaze with a rotary to clean the paint. Then I went over the car with S100 SEC by hand, followed by a coat of Final Polish, and topped with S100. I used Clearkote QS to top it all off. Using Autopia's Ultimate Detailing Towels to remove the polish, wax, and QD (excellent towels by the way. ;)) I waxed all of the jambs using Meguiar's Deep Crystal cleaner wax. The wheels and tailpipes were polished with S100 Total Cycle Finish Restorer and a terry towel. I cleaned the windows using Stoner's IG, and an Autofiber.com Pro Detailing Towel (another excellent towel. :xyxthumbs) All of the exterior lights were polished using Plexus, and the tires were dressed with regular Armor All and a TS.

The interior was in pretty good condition as well. I just vacuumed the carpet, and then wiped over everything with a damp MF, and applied Stoner's Trim Shine with a MF towel. The instrument panel glass, CD player face, and dome light were polished using Plexus.

Under the hood didn't require too much attention, so I just wiped over the plastic and rubber items with a damp towel, and applied Stoner's Trim Shine to the plastic and rubber items. Here's some pics, all comments, suggestions, and questions welcomed.:)

Turbo Mustang  How much boost and hp?

The detailing work is good too.:)

Thanks.

The shiny silver thing on the front of the engine is a supercharger, a V-2 Vortech Supercharger to be exact. ;) It puts out about 7 pounds of boost, and is rated to be worth 75 HP, and 80 foot pounds of torque. My guess for the actual HP and torque ratings on the engine with the supercharger would be about 300 HP, and 250 foot pounds of torque. :)

 car and great detailing job!

Your brother ever let you drive? I'll bet it is pretty damn responsive with the blower!

No, not yet. :( He bought the car about two weeks ago, and he hasn't driven it much himself. He bought it to re-sell, so he probably won't have it much longer. I have ridden in it a few times, and it is responsive. It has a low gear in it also. My guess would be a 4.30:1 ratio. :) I do love a supercharger, and he knows this, so maybe that's why he hasn't let me drive it yet.:nixweiss

My brother has an 87 GT that he has had for the last 10 years, and I'm still waiting for him to let me make that one 10 second quarter mile pass in it. :angry But his 87 GT is actually a lot nicer than this 98 GT pictured above. It also runs 6.80's/10.80 @ 124 MPH with a stock bottom end 302 with heads, cam, GT-40 intake, and about a 225 shot of nitrous. The car also has all of the options that came on the car from the factory, and weights 3300 pounds.;) But that's a whole other subject.:doh

BTW, thanks for the compliments everyone.:wavey

Here is a pic of my stang from a show this summer. Put 5 coats of ZfX (z5) on the night before.

It's always nice to see a good looking stang running around T.O

People are drifting away from Civic Nation (although I drive one also).
