A new favorite glass cleaning combo!

Well, the sun peeked out of the clouds before I could dry the windows, so the inevitable happened...waterspots.

So I looked through my bin of supplies for some Stoners IG, but, oh yeah, I ran out right before we moved!:(

So, I just ran over to a Target(convenient) and I thought, "Oh, what the heck!", and I bought some Gunk Ammonia-Free Glass Cleaner(the foamy kind), and some Baja Sol Lint-Free Glass Cleaning cloths. Well, it worked better than IG ever did!:bounce

First, I sprayed the Gunk on the windows, rubbed thoroughly with a paper towel, then dried streak-free using the lint-free cloths!

Right now, I'm loving this combo!:xyxthumbs It's (surprisingly) beat out everything else I've tried(and I've spent some $$ on glass stuff)! Plus, it's pretty cheap. I think you can score the glass cleaner @Walmart, too!

I've checked it in every type of light...NO STREAKS or HAZE! Try it, I think you'll like it(at least the cloths, anyway!).

:wavey

I use Windex or sometimes the generic Kind and it works wonders on takeing off all the gunk and oils on the windshielf inside and out.

sweet find man! I've got to go to target anyways to pick up some stuff this weekend, time for the car isle. . .

Yep I find it really easy to clean windows with windex or just amonia free cleaner. The blue stuff leaves it streak free and oil, dust free. I use Papertowels to get the gunk off then buff with a lint free microfiber.

I would recommend for sh*ts and giggles to go to g u r u r e p o r t s. o r g and purchase their Glass Cleaner Report for ~ 4 bucks.

I did that and am glad I did .. I will be saving those 4 bucks many times over based on the cleaner I selected to use from that report -- it was real cheap compared to everything else out there.

FYI -- JUST MY 2 CENTS -- AND I AM NOT ASSOCIATED IN ANY WAY WITH THE REPORT OR SITE.

I would give the hint .... but I think of it this way -- if I do or someone else who has seen the report does give a hint or hints -- do you think the authors of the report will continue to bother producing reports like it any more ??? Personally -- I think at the 4 buck price it was worth it to save myself a lot of experimentation on a part of car cleaning that I hate -- cleaning the glass areas and making a mess of it more often then not ...

Heh I noticed after I clean with Windex on the outside my window will bead water nicely rather then with the normal water and soap combo.

A friend of mine recently turned me on to Griots Glass cleaner and I must say that of all the methods of tried this was by far the best I've used. I've tried most typical glass cleaners like windex, newspapers, Costco's glass cleaner, a glass polish and a few others I can't remember.

The Griots Glass Cleaner combined with their white cotton cloths removes bugs and grime very quickly and leaves a completely streak free surface. :up

I'm currently using Stoners Inivisible Glass and as soon as this can runs out I'm switching to Griots. But......next time we need a glass cleaner for the house I'll give the Gunk a try and see how it does, always need to keep an open mind.:)

Gunk at Zellers (canadian discount dept store similar to walmart)

$1.99 = $1.30 US for a large aerosol can.

Ask any housewife and they'll tell you that "BonAmi" is the best glass cleaner bar-none, and they're right.

It does streak a little on really hot glass.

I've found Eagle 20/20 Glass Cleaner and micro fiber towels do the best job.

E1 20/20 :up :up

I'm also pretty impressed with the overall quality of its spray-bottle.

Drewski, thanks for sharing that with us. Maybe I'll give it a try when my currently supply runs out.

I just might have to try some EO. I am a die hard Stoners IG fan but I'm always looking to try something new. I see the EO all the time at Autozone.
