A Lurkers re-introduction!

Hello everyone!

I signed up here a few years ago after being bitten severely by the detailing bug, but life in general has kept me occupied!

In short, I'm 33 from Lancaster City, Pa. I'm mostly a weekend warrior when it comes to detailing (family and my own). My main occupation is EMS as a Emergency Medical Technician but as of late I've been being more drawn into the detailing world. I keep our two ambulances pretty much spit shined and while it's fun working on them, you can only do so much.

Last week I did a 10 hr detail on a co-workers F-350 Lariat that came out beautiful and quite frankly it left me hungry for more......very hungry!!!

I'm mainly a Megs user as it's easily found locally, relatively cheap, and has rarely left me disappointed. I'm was quite active on MOL before my daughter was born, but now she is getting older which is giving me more time to detail. I'm looking to branch out and expand my horizons on every aspect of detailing and product choices.

After 14 years in the military (active/reserve) my attention to details is stronger then ever and most of my coworkers have stated that "it just isn't human!" I want to keep it that way!!

Anyways, there's my intro, I love reading up on topics here and I'm looking forward to contributing whatever I can!

Sean,

Welcome back. I almost feel as though I should do a "reintroduction" as well.

I spent many hours detailing, even as a PT business in the early '00s. Since then, life took over, I moved on up at work, and we had a daughter. She is now two, and as she gets older, hopefully I will have more time (and energy lol) to get back into the hobby.

Spring is always a good time of year to get the bug; just lask week I was able to detail both our CRVs as the in-laws took the little one for the weekend. It was great!

Welcome back, and sorry for stealing your thunder :)

Ain't that the truth Asif! Yesterday I tried to detail my wife's Saturn before the thunderstorms showed up. All I needed before the storms arrived was finish up cleaning the windows and the first coat of wax. I didn't make it and it hasn't stopped raining since. My daughter came out and the first thing she did was run her hands around the car saying "oooooo that's nice!" Gotta love it!

Welcome back and I don't think I have any thunder to steal....yet! :wavey

Glad to see you back!

I got banned about 2007 or so by the previous "owners" of the site for speaking things that apparently did not make his "products or processes" look good.

This is a different site now.

Don't miss out on the Thursday night chat, (that is unless you have reservations about reading, etc some, should I say "slightly off-color from time to time, subjects), it's a good group and not always quite "PC", but a load of fun.

LOL Sean....you're gonna laugh, but ever since our daughter started to walk, i was always sure to reinforce that cars were not to touch. Don't get me wrong; I let her be a kid 98% of the time, but wouldn't allow her to run her hands along the paintwork for fear of scratching or damaging the paint. Is that a little too extreme of me? (looking for a little validation from my fellow detail addicts here!)

You will find on the bar at the bottom of your browser window. Says "Chatrooms". If you minimized the bar for some reason, click on the blue chat ball thing in the lower right corner of your browser.

Oh, and welcome back!

Asif, no I don't think that's too extreme, I'm not bothered by her doing that as long as it's a) not a "customer" car and b) it was on my wife's car which will be trashed by the end of the week......at the most!! Now to me, windows since they are such a PITA to get just right, and kids LOVE windows!!

Grumpy, when does that chat session start on Thursday? I'm pretty sure I'll be there for it!

Welcome back Underdog! Looks like you're close to Barry Theal?

Thank you Dave!

I'm about 15-20 minutes south of his shop, I used to be up in that area rather frequently with my job a few years back. I remember chatting a few lines here with him when I first joined up 3 years ago but life happened and my detailing bug went on the back burner till now. It looks like he is doing rather well.

I just saw he was trying to get a class going in March but it fell through, I'd love to see him do his thing and learn his method of madness, I hope he can get a class going in the future.
