I'm about to embark on polishing my Audi A3 with a porter cable for the first time, and just got all my pads and optimum polishes. To be honest I'm a little bit nervous about my first go, and I don't want to wreck my paint on my first shot. I tried out my optimum polish, then optimum compound on a small section by hand with an orange pad and I didn't even make a budge in the swirls, so that wasn't a big confidence booster. I'm starting to wonder if I should have gotten the menzerna polishes instead.
I'm in Berkeley, and I was wondering if anyone with some experience would be willing/interested to show me the ropes in exchange for beers/lunch. I don't want someone to do the work for me, just a bit of guidance to get me started. I'd be happy to drive to you, or work at my place. Thanks...
