This will be first time using a pc. How does my process look?

- Menzerna IP/30% RMG w/ Orange Propel Pad

- Menzerna FP II w/ Blue Propel Pad

- S100 GEPC w/ Blue Propel *is this step necessary?

- RMG w/ Black Finishing Pad

- EX-P by hand

- Natty's Blue

My car is a Nighthawk Black Pearl 02 Acura TL. The paint is moderately swirled but other than that it is in decent condition. Will the IP/RMG w/ Orange pad too aggressive?

Smart man on the RMG mix :) (You're one of the few "newer" people who research before posting)

I typically use the Blue Propel for Glazes (don't own a black either way) and it has worked very well. I don't see the S100 step being necessary either as you mentioned. I'm curious on how the bonding will be with EX-P and NB since I was going to try that combo next week :/. The Orange Pad with IP should be fine, if you were using OC and an Orange pad I may say keep a close eye but IP is a nice compoud and the RMG will help out. Besides that, looks great and post some pics after your done!

Sounds like a good plan! However I might suggest the following changes:

-Menzerna IP/30% RMG w/ Orange Propel Pad (P2)

- Menzerna FP II w/ Blue Propel Pad (Green P2 Propel pad might be more appropriate if there's any marring at all from the IP)

- S100 GEPC w/ Blue Propel *is this step necessary? (no reason for this step since you're using RMG afterward)

- RMG w/ Black Finishing Pad (Blue P2 Propel says for use with glazes but either would work)

- EX-P by hand

- Natty's Blue

If you already have everything great! If not, I would opt for the P2 Propel Pads. They will enable you to "push" the pads to remove swirls and should last much longer. (especially the backing on them) Good luck and post pics when you're done! :bigups

I actually do have the P2's. Thanks for the advice. I think i will use the green propel instead of blue. I'll be sure to post some pictures.

I have tried EX-P topped with natty's before. It gives great ultra wet finish. Bonding was fine as long as u wait 24 hrs between applying EX-P and natty's.

I'm new to the forum and was wondering what the benefits are to cutting the Menzerna IP with some ClearKote RMG ??

Thanks for any input,

I tried the IP w/ 30% RMG for the first time today. It dramatically reduced dusting and allowed me with more working time. Adding RMG to the IP makes it even more user friendly.

Thanks for the input.

I'm curious which pad you used with the IP?

And what was the extent of any scratches or swirl marks you were trying to remove??

I will be detailing 2 suv's in the very near future. The 1997 Jeep is white and has some mild scratches to be removed before polish and FMJ

The 2004 Suburban's paint is in really nice shape and doesn't need repair just a cleaning, light polish and FMJ to finish.

I am using propel II pads for the first time along with a Festool RO150.

I used the IP with the orange cutting pad. My car only have a lot of swirls but nothign too deep. I was able to remove about 95 percent of the swirls. It was good enough for me considering it was my first time. I suggest spraying the pad with water each time your about to hit a new panel. I also suggest cleaning your pad after it starts to gum up, as it will also help reduce dusting.
