Anybody use this one from Top of the Line?

EDIT: Oh, this is the one Bill was talking about...anyway, has anyone used this?

Scottwax mentioned the nasty BMW spoked wheels and I'm in the same boat. I've tried just about everything including the little sponges and I've found great success with a 2 - 2.5 inch sash brush.

It gets into the little corners, little slits, and wide expanses exceptionally well and is mobile enough to use upside down and I've never had any swirls / scratches on my wheels.

They're cheap, hardy, and available at all hardware stores / paint stores so I always have a couple hanging around.

The usual proviso - wrap the ferrule (metal part) with duct tape.

Old guys will recognize a sash brush as a paintbrush with the bristles cut on an angle.

Until something better comes along, I'm sticking with the sash brush.

This thread was quite a coincidence. I got a similar brush on clearance last fall at one Target. I had never used it and forgot about it, but came across it the other day and thought it looked pretty good and wondered if I could get another if it turned out to work well. It's a Mr. Clean brush, but it says right on it it's made by Carrand. It doesn't appear on the Mr. Clean web site, but I found it here: http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?19619 . It's black and the handle is different.

Doh, I posted before I saw your reply :o

Coming soon to an internet retailer near you... (Maybe)

They will initially be available in 3-5 types of wool. And also a patented version that I can't show you here or else I'd have to hunt you all down one by one.

They are machine washable, folks!

A few companies are already selling them off trucks, the retail prices vary between $15 and $20 each.

This is only one of the dozens of projects that we're working on. There simply aren't enough hours in the day!

To my wonderfully patient and understanding customers who use this forum and might see this (You know who you are!), if these are of interest to you, just drop me a line and I'll give you pricing and availability.

And if this post is agaisnt the rules, delete post haste!

Lee,

I bought the exact same sheep skin wheel brush at Pep Boys a few months ago. I was actually going to post a review, but never got around to it.

I'm very happy with the brush. I think it works really well if you like to use soap & water to clean your wheels. I imagine strong wheel cleaners would eat this brush for breakfast. I've probably used it at least a dozen times with no noticeable wear at all (and I leave it soaking in the wash bucket for long periods of time). I do agree with Sean though that it is somewhat short making it difficult to get all the way to the back of the inside of the wheel. Otherwise, no complaints.
