A few thoughts about HD Speed

This was the very first panel I used HD UNO V1 on.

HD UNO, with the HD UNO orange pad. (no longer available) PCXP, speed 6, lots of pressure, and worked it in real good. there was some hazing, so added 1 small drop of UNO and quickly went over the area. Wiped off the residue and this is what I saw.

This was sometimes in August 2009 and I didn't know of another product that could do this using a PC.

I was exited to say the least.

June 10 2012

HD UNO, Original Optimum Micro Fiber pad, Griots PC, speed 5 little pressure

I started with this

After 1 pass, UNO wiped off with no effort, revealing an LSP ready finish

So you got that finish and results with JUST UNO and a MF pad, nothing else? How many passes did it take you?

And please quote where I said all their products are the best?

I tried (used to use Meg's) both and it is a better product. Smell about the same (nothing fancy), but the lack of suds that you get with Meg's is non existent. You would love it doing carpets. Not even in the same category. Meg's to me was very limited as far as where I would use it. This one is very gentle yet cleans better. I use it everywhere. Really like it on cleaning leather

My go to product for wheels and engine cleaning

I use this product on every single detail.

My Favorite waterless product.

I love HD Free, best waterless wash there is, is this the same stuff? I agree Dan, I love using HD FREE. Use it on anything I can.

HD POXY along with HD UNO were the 2 products that changed my professional life as a detailer. After the first detail, I was hooked. I couldn't believe how much simpler and easier it was while you use a lot less too! Using only 2 products, yet the gloss/shine was noticeably better. That was August of 2009. I have been using these 2 products ever since. I thought you used Uno in 2007, but you began only using Uno in 2009 This is the product list from a detail by you posted on 10/28/09,

wash

clay

105 wool rotary

105 orange flex

205 green flex

ultra fina blue (some areas) flex

PS black flex

Z8

TW tire gel
Dont see a mention of Uno or Poxy here, or anything 3D/HD as a matter of fact

Do you want unbeatable shine? CHECK!

Do you want gloss that is unmatched? CHECK!

Do you want very long lasting protection? CHECK! Try ANY Wax or Sealant against NITRO SEAL and you'll see which product you prefer.

Since I first ordered this product awhile back, this has been the only car soap on my cars.

Out of all the cleaners for windows that I have used regularly, this product is in another class. This is the most user friendly window cleaner I have tried.

Seems someone doesnt have their facts correct.

Yes sir! Not sure how many passes I did, I have a unique style - I polish slowly. So instead of doing 6 passes I may do 2 max 3 and get the result, so that would not be helpful.

But don't forget, the thread I started said the easiest paint I have worked on so far. I mean I pretty much corrected the whole car in 9 or so hours

That IS truly amazing then, or that paint just kept moving around to cover up swirls lol.

Do you know when UNO was first available?

Page 1, middle of the page, SPEED CAN correct if it is used with cutting pads.

well technically, can't just about anything correct when using it with a cutting pad? Thing is, is it the product or the pad that's doing the cutting?

Well, it is both, the product and the pad. That includes every single product. Not just HD SPEED

If it was the product, wouldn't it cut with any pad? Honest question.

I could put M105 on the softest wax application pad I have and get it to cut.

After reading through the thread I think you guys are just beating a dead horse. Thomas, your enthusiasm about all of HD/3Ds products is fine because they work for you and you get great results from their entire line. And thats the thing about detailing, if something works for someone they stick to it. The people who have used UNO and not gotten great results, is probably just because they are so used to other products that work for them. When I think of UNO, I immediately think of you Thomas, because you have mastered the product like no other. You just need to realize that not everyone will be able to pick up UNO and get the results you do with it, thats all.

And back on topic, I've used Speed very little so far but its a fantastic product that made my dads Jet Black BMW M5 glow and look perfect.

Chris, if you think it is only the product, take your 105 and put some of it on your softest pad and by hand real gently wipe it on the paint. See how much it will cut. Now that would be the product only. :)

No All In One product should be expected to cut with a finishing pad. And of course 105 can't cut as well with a soft pad as it would with a wool pad either. You just proved my point. :D It may give you some cut but wouldn't be too happy with it.

Let me see you use another brand AIO type product and see if it cuts as well as HD SPEED. Same pads, same speeds. That is if you are questioning the ability of the product.

I agree with you, that I am pretty good with HD UNO. However it is not a hard product to learn to use either. With each improvement, it gets easier and easier to use. Put it on a MF pad and go to town. The finish should look pretty good. It really is not rocket science.

It is only when someone doubts my abilities or claim that the product doesn't work no matter what, Then I speak up. What am I to do? I would still like to see some evidence from RZ and all that marring he gets with UNO.

I do appreciate the kind words and glad that SPEED is doing what it was designed for. Enjoy your weekend.

I know you wrote that you have nothing personally against me, but it really seems that you have an issue at least with the HD products. You do take every opportunity to put it down :D

Well, I am going to PM you my address and you send me those samples. Let me see what is going on with them Send some of each. Not too long ego there was a member who was having issues with UNO. He sent me some and sure enough, it didn't want to wipe off. He was sent a new bottle. It is all good.

RZJZA80 said:
exactly my thoughts.

Thomas Dekany said:
I was just kidding. Black is an excellent pad to jewel the paint with SPEED. To cut, you will need a white polishing pad at least. Even with an orange pad the paint will look great.

ok thanks for the clarification.

I'm sure you're not referring to me in doubting YOUR abilities, I've said many times you're a good detailer. On the contrary, you have doubted mine.

I've posted pictures in another thread in this section which showed the marring on black paint versus other products I used along with the UNO, same pad, etc.
