General thoughts on new products tested this weekend...all applied by hand.
Danase Wet Glaze. After being disappointed with Meg's #5 and 7 this stuff was a revelation. Somewhat thick and grape scented. Easy to apply and remove. You can do the entire car as opposed to the Megs. Doesn't flash quickly at all and resembles more of a wax. Bob @ Danase says you can layer it too and the longest time needed for to cure is 30 minutes. Since its an acrylic, you can apply above and under a sealant or wax. Some even use it as a standalone lsp as it lasts longer than the typical glaze. Looks nice on the metallic silver paint. Big thumbs up!
Clearkote Carnauba Wax. Read many posts on here so gave it a shot. Easy to apply and remove--very similar to my usual Liquid Souveran but a tad thicker. Same appearance too but looks to last much longer. Another great product.
Quik Shine and Danase Turbo Detailer. I love to QD. No marring so far either. What I look for is a little cleaning ability and a lot of slickness. Comparing to my favorite DG 521. QS is a nice but not remarkable QD. Slickness is good but not great. No scent. The Turbo Detailer smells like bubble gum. Better slickness and similar cleaning. Give the edge to the Turbo and its $4 cheaper for same 16oz. Neither appear to strip the wax or glaze either. I have a gallon left of 521 so will alternate then decide after using both up.
In summary the DWG is a must-have. The CCW is nice but didn't wow me when compared to the Liquid Souveran however it should last longer. For me, the ease of application and removal is key. So far, appearances left by different waxes is in the eye of the beholder and maybe would show hardly any difference if compared in an unnamed test.
There are some tactile differences in QD's based on slickness. To me, the scent adds some subjective benefits but slickness is THE key difference. All leave the same appearances to me.
