A Few Optmium Questions

Some made a chart compariing the aggressivness of different compounds and polishes, but didnt have any info for the Optmium. How does OP and OC compare to Meg. or Poorboys? could someone rank the following by aggressivness.



Opt Polish w/ orange cutting

Opt Polish w/ yellow cutting

Opt Compound w/ white polishing

Opt Compound w/ orange cutting



Im going to use Optimum for the first time on a BMW with delear installed buffertrails so any advice using it would be great full.
 
Honestly, it is really hard to make a direct comparison especially when you include pads since polishes respond differently to the same pad in many cases.



Optimum polish tends to be a touch more aggressive than #80 using the typical polishing pad.



Optimum Compound is pretty close to DACP using the same pads, although on most paints, OC finishes down better. On BMWs and black G35s, DACP seems to work better. :nixweiss
 
Let me chime in on the subject at hand.



I tried OP and was pretty dissapointed with it. Reason being, I got one of the many bad bottles of OP that was chunky, and very hard to squeeze out. Since then Optimum sent me a new bottle of OP.



The Optimum triplets are my go to polishes from now on. OHC and OP are amazing.



I tried out SSR 2.5, and wasn't to infatuated with its dustyness, and a few other things.



OHC and OP dont dust one bit for me, it was a breeze to use them and got most of my defects out.



I LOVE OHC with the orange LC pad.
 
As Evenflow said, the Optimum line seems to leave little to no dusting behind, while the PB line seems to dust more, but not to the level of the OLD Sonus SFX line. BUT, with my experiences, PB seems much easier to remove and it smells better too! I find both products very good, but I am sticking with my Optimum for it's low dusting characteristics.



I have yet to have this answered though regarding OC and OHC...Which one is more aggressive? The name would have me believing that OHC is more aggressive, but the directions to both bottles reveal that OC is more aggressive...any thoughts on this?

OHC Is more aggressive than the OC. OHC is meant for rotary use, while OC is more meant for the PC. However, I use OHC on the PC and it breaks down PERFECT for me. Only thing is it gunks up the pad quite a bit
 
oh seriously, its not supposed to be chunky....damn I need to send mine back in....I thought it was just supposed to be like that

I had the chunky problem too with my OC. I recieved a different nozzle (larger diameter) and it dispenses fine.



I have only used the Optimum and the PB line once / twice each.



As stated above, the PB does dust quite a bit more, but does smell great. :chuckle:
