A Few Noob Questions?

Hello everyone, I'm slowly but surely coming along in my new hobby, thanks to all of you. I have a few questions if you don't mind:

1. What sort of APC do you use? I looked at Simple Green at the store and it is "concentrated". It says not to use on plastic dashboards and some other stuff. I have read here that various parts are cleaned with APC. (Door jambs, etc)

2. I would appreciate your recommendations on what to top Klasse SG with. I already have one excellent suggestion and would appreciate more.

3. How long do I need to wait after applying Klasse SG to take my car out in the rain/drizzle? I am reading different things about this.

4. Does Zaino have an issue with water spots? I have read it can spot when it gets wet and would like to confirm.

5. Do you polish/seal/wax your door jambs? Engine compartment finish?

6. What do you clean engine plastic, door jamb plastic, trunk plastic, etc with? APC?

7. I AIO'd my wheels. Any benefit to using SG on them?

Thanks very much for your time! :dance

1. EF High Intensity. Simple Green scares me, I've used it but now I keep it away from my vehicles

2. Looks- Meg's #16 or P21s/S100 or Souveran. Durability- Collinite 476S

3. As long as you can (overnight) but don't worry if you have to take it out immediately

4. :nixweiss

5. Absolutely. I generally treat the out-of-the-way areas the same as the rest of it, but I'll use something geared more toward durability for the LSP

6. The EFHI once if needed, but then I just use wash solution. I never let them get that dirty

7. Sure. I use about 4 layers of KSG if I can keep the wheels off the vehicle that long (I especially like multiple layers on the back sides, makes them easier to keep clean)

Thanks Accumlator, I really appreciate your time. Those are all great answers. Anyone else want to throw their 2 cents in? :)

If the waterspots are from hard water, then anything will spot and badly too.

From rain, most everything i use dries pretty cleanly, if the vehicle was clean to begin with.

Zaino attracts less dust then alot of the products i have used, so take that into consideration when it rains.

1. I use Meg's Detailer line APC.

2. Your favorite wax :) My choices would be Nattys, Paste Glaz, Nattys Blue, or #16.

3. Haven't used it. Can't really help you here. I'd wait at LEAST a few hours if possible. Sometimes you just have to leave.

4. I've only used Z6, and I don't recall any more/less water spot issues than any other LSP.

5. Yes, I polish/wax my door jambs and engine compartment finish. I used AIO/#16. Add some Gummipflege, and those door jambs look terrific!

6. It depends. I usually clean engines by hand with just car soap and water, cleaned with a cheap MF towel. Sometimes I use APC.

7. Yes there is a benefit to using SG on your wheels, just like there is a benefit to using it on your paint. SG will protect your wheels much longer than AIO. I've got AIO/WGx2 on my wheels, and they're just starting to lose their beading action. That's OK though, because another week or so, and my wheels are coming off for the season.
