A few Mach 1 Pics

After what seemed like 15 billion hours I finally got my 03 zinc yellow Mach 1 looking good. After many different products (and my not likening the results) I ended up with:

DACP followed by #9 and topped with NXT

The things I used and hated were:

3M smr

P21s GEPC

Zaino (just to much work for me)

P21s GEPC

Please, please please explain what you did/did not like with this. I am looking into using it as my final glaze before I layer a sealent(EX-P). Then top w/ S100 wax.

mnbv,

The gepc just didn't give the gloss I was looking for. I tried it after smr and dacp and it left the paint a bit less glossy then I would have liked it to be. I gave Meg's #9 a shot and it worked great. I applied the gepc with a pc and a CMA white pad and removed it using a clean MF, just not my product I guess? Lots of ppl like it, but not me.

Perphaps it is not as good on very light paintwork like yellow. I am now constering VM over gepc anyway.

Sweet car :xyxthumbs I really like the Mach 1.

Do you have any modifications planned for it?

To get some ideas if you do plan on it, Hot Rod magazine has been doing a monthly special on a Mach 1, beefing up the suspension and doing some exhaust and basic engine mods that are not too costly. It's featured in the next few issues including the last two.

have you tried #80 Speed Glaze? it's pretty good and gets recommended by a few autopians. and it helps with some minor swirls.

nice job! then, again, i could be a little biased. :p

btw, i think this was #80 and NXT. IMO, the lighting helped.

I was going to try #80 but the store I went to didn't have it so I just picked up some #9 for now. I hope to get the Speed Glaze soon. I was looking at the car the other day in some real harsh sun and noticed swirls on the doors so it looks like I have to hit it with the dacp again. I didn’t get them all that good the first time around, got WAY to sick of doing it so I kind slacked off. I love the nxt tho that stuff is a breeze to use and looks great too.

I do plan on a few mods in the future. I'd like to swap out stock shifted for a short throw (pro 5.0), put an slp loudmouth catback on. I also want to drop it about an inch or so and get a cai then reflash the ecu with the Diablo. But all that stuff is out of my reach monetary wise right now. Plus the reflash, short throw and cai would void my warranty. So those will wait another 2 years or so.

Thanks for all the compliments!!!!

hirosh-----NICE CAR!!!!!!!!!
