With AIO do I have to wait before I add a layer of SG? Also is it neccesary to wait between coats of SG to let it cure or wait for SG to cure before I top with a carnuba? Also what is the wipe on wipe off method I know it sounds self explanatory but any tips or tricks to it, I searched fopr the bill north method but couldn't come up with anything! Thanks in advance?

I can answer a few of your Qs- No need to wait between AIO and SG. But SG should cure for about 24 hours before you add another coat OR top with wax. Some would say you should wait about a WEEK before topping, but they're in the minority.

Maybe try searching on BillNorth (one word). There's a ton of stuff on that topic...

Cure time of SG seems to be dependent on the weather. Longer cure times for wet/cool weather. In Houston, I'd say SG can be layered after 24 hours when temps get warmer, say between April and October (personal opinion only - no scientific basis).

I'm sort of confused on www.properautocare.com they interviewed the prez of Klasse said 8-12 hours of cure time in the article!:nixweiss Also he reccomends make the app. pad damp with water or a QD spray to make application easier and make it go further. I've seen a few threads where they say you should apply it dry! So I'll have to go with another :nixweiss . Any insight is appreciated and I usually like to get the word from the horse's mouth and that is what the horse said:) So help me out here Thanks

I use 4 inch yellow foamie (or grey final polishing pad on PC) lightly misted with EO Wipe & Shine to apply AIO

I get a clean MF, wet it with waters and wring it almost dry then use about a quarter sized dab of SG.

Both get wiped off with clean MF's as soon as the application step is finished (BN's WOWO)

A ? for BILL

Well from all I've researched the wipe on wipe off method seems to be the best way to work with SG. But I have a question for you Bill since I remeber you had contact with Bob of Klasse and that is where the WOWO method came from. Now you recommend a minimum 24 hour cure a week at optimum. I had previously said their is an article on proper auto care where they interview Bob of Klasse and in that interview he said wait 8-12 hours. What is the reasoning and why is he saying this! Thanks Bill

Hey TBB,

Let me clear up a couple of things.

I myself never had contact with Bob from klasse. It was another member of the forum way back when. All Bob recommended was the wipe on wipe off approach to using SG. Back then he never said anything about cure time. He only mentioned that recently in his interview with CMA. The 24 hour/ 1 week cure time was recommended by Ron Ketcham. He is a chemist and used to be a member of this board. He's also held in high esteem by many of us who had the chance to interact with him.

The problem with klasse is that they offer too much conflicting information about thier own products. 2 years ago Bob said to wipe on and off SG, now in his CMA interview he tells ppl to leave it on for 24 hrs before buffing off. You see why us long time klasse users shake our heads when klasse opens it's mouth.

I personally adhere to the 1 week wait time. I just throw on a coat after my weekly wash. I also use the WOO technique as I've found it to provide the exact same results as the other app/rem methods. My car still looks and feels fantastic even after a brutal Toronto winter. It's the easiest and most convenient way I've found. And the results speak for themselves.

I apply SG with a MF pad. I spritz the pad with Sonus acrylic spritz. Then I add a quarter size dab of SG. I use this until it drys. Then I spritz again. When the SG thins out I add another dab of SG. By diluting the SG with acrylic spritz I get a thin layer. I let the car dry for one hour and then I buff off the residue. About 24 hours later I am ready to apply another coat. This seems to work well for me. I have also used the WOO method when I didn't have time to wait one hour. This works quite well also but I feel that I may be wiping off some of the product as well as the residue. When it is time to wax, I always wait 24 hours after the last coat of SG.

And as long as we're questioning the cure time between coats of SG, I'm the guy who says apply the second coat as soon as you finish the first.
