I have a terrible etching from one $$@é%&* bird bomb. I was away for a while and when I returned this reddish bird bomb had dried on my roof. Despite evere effort to park away trees, street lights and overhead cables, the bird still dive bombed my wife's black beauty.

Now I tried all the following :

Thorough wash

NXT

Rubbing alcohol

General purpose cleaner (meg's)

Now the etched area is still the same. I plan on doing #3000 wet sanding and following as it goes...

What do you folks have to say to help ??? I know it is not an impossible task but it is annoying and frustrating !!

It would make sense to start with the least invasive procedure first, then step up the ladder as needed. I'm sure that all of us, in the same situation, would like to rid ourselves of all traces of the attack as aggressively and as quickly as possible, but in the long run, the solution that leaves you with as much clearcoat remaininng as possible is the best one.
