A black Armada, Lexus, and Viper SRT10

Great job on all of them, that Aramada owner should be very pleased with you and ticked with the body shop.

How do you like 205? does it have a short spread life like 105? How are the fillers? I find 105 to do a small level of filling, have you tested any of those attributes yet?

Just curious, not trying to start any controversy.

Thanks,

Josh

Thanks Josh, I doi find that *105* can fill on *some* paints--or it's more noticeable on some paints. When it breaks down, it typically just disappears into dust, on the cars where I notice it filling it breaks down and leave an oily residue on the piant. This residue when wiped will still not reveal marring, one must wipe with prepsol to see the true condition of the paint. It's just something to watch out for.

We use more 105 than any other polish.

I am almost all the way through my first qt of M205 and I will definitely be ordering the gallon. It finishes out perfectly on all but the softest of paints yet has *really* nice cut for a finishing polish. I am not ready to give up my FPII or UFSE as they are still needed on some paints, but M205 definitely has a reserved spot in my bag of tools.

The work time on M205 is pretty short, butn ot like M105--it's certainly not ike UFSE, or any of the Menzerna final polishes. Really, it's like any othe polish, just have to figure out the product and see how/if it fits into your process. For us, M205 does that very well.

As far as M205 filling, it can, but if worked properly I don't find it to be an issue. An ISO wipedown typically reveals that everything that we thought was removed, was indeed removed.

billium, we had just ordered a gallon of the old formula just before the new formula came out--so we are still using the old--no problems.

Thanks everyone!

Epic, great thread man. You continue to impress everybody and it is a damn shame that you didn't make the autoweek article as your work is as good as anybodies in the world. You continue to raise the bar and your threads are always on the top of the list for viewers to read. Awesome on every level!

I have found myself using M105/KB Method on just about everything lately (although it is with some head hanging as just two months ago I was boasting how a PC/DA could never match a rotary). I am stilling finishing with a rotary, but most of my cutting-heavy polishing-medium polishing is reserved for M105 on a day.

The Armada was hacked, awesome recovery.

Thanks for sharing.

Stunning work Joe!

Love the M105 w/ KB method too! Have a sample of the M205, but have not tried it yet.

As noted above Saleen lays some nice paint and does get 90% of the OP out with the wetsanding they do, but the polishing work is sub body shop standard from the new black ACR that I worked on. I did not have knowledge of the M105/KB method when I did that viper, but will use it in the future for sure.

Wow, unbelievable work Joe!!

I am amazed that the bodyshop let the Armada go out the door in that condition. Completely unacceptable...:nono

All the cars look amazing!! :bow

Thanks Todd! I am not sure what article you mean, but there are a ton of deatilers around here that should be mentioned in an article about "real" detailing. :D Heck, some of them don't even make a living from it, just have the skill/knowledge to do incredible work. I really appreciate the kind words--thank you.

Thanks everyone! I am trying to get pictures from my latest "repairs" from the stealership guys--wait until you see how bad they hack up cars down here. :D

^ he's using this guy... :)
