A bit dissappointed with Blackfire on Black GTP

The BF looks really good but i think the Souveran looked the best. I think a coat of Souveran on the BF would look sweet.

Thunderingbird, I think I see what you were talking about. I took a walk around my car today around sunset. There was a directional Chameleon type effect. Looked pretty neat. :up



I was suprised after 2 days, there wasn't really dust on it compared to when I had Souveran and Zaino.

The last time I check automotive paint is a form of plastic. I really do not understand the above statement. Since both our cars are GM products I am assuming they have the same black paint on them. My Z28 is pure black (non-metallic) and I have depth like I never was able to achieve before with any carnuaba. When I go to car shows, the cars with the best paint jobs appear as though they have this "plastic-like coating" and some almost look like candy. That was the look I have been seeking since I was kid building model cars and planes.

Good question. Shine and car appearance is like horsepower. You never have enough.

I really have not switched to BF but topped my 60 -70 layers of Zaino with BF protectant. Amazingly this created the carnauba-like depth with the Zaino base. As you know recently I have been applying a combo (mixture) of Z2/5 and BF with good results and no drawbacks ( hazing, increased dust attraction, streaking,etc) on my Z28 (garage queen). I still can not comment on durability or post washing results ( rarely drive car and never in bad weather). She looks great sitting in the garage or outside when I QD.

This is not a hard and fast protocol but just a deviation of products being used. I am sure in the future that I may desire the ultra-high reflectivity of Zaino and start adding coats of straight Z2 or the carnuaba-like wetness of BF and just use this product alone. Just adding variation to the look and seeking the desire appearance for my mood. Just keeping things interesting.:xyxthumbs
