I had not seen that one. Looks scary though to tell you the truth. I would think the dirt might get trapped in those compartments and released on the paint.

that sponge looks like something you would use to wipe/clean your countertops, etc., with...

4 for £1 in the UK, and they are nice and thin and ideal for getting into wheel rims etc. Been recommended them so picked them up today and will give them a full test tomorrow :2thumbs:

I just went to Lowe's today and bought 3 of the Proline GS sponges. I can't wait to try them out.:heelclick

I don't have a grit guard yet so how do I ensure that the vast majority of the dirt is removed when they are rinsed?

yes, the dirt/contamination rinses out very easily. also, you can use the hose to rinse it off between panels if you care to do so...

Thanks. I use the 2 bucket method and I wasn't sure if moving it through the clean water would remove everything. I remember having to "fight" with my microfiber wash mitt at times since the dirt didn't want to come off of it.

To me, it's softer than the grout sponge everyone's talking about. To each his own. Both sponges work well. jmo

Are these paint safe?? Sorry I never use these... maybe I'm missing out!

They seemed to be. Others have use these sponges far longer than I have. Using ONR, or DP rinseless wash they don't hold as much water/solution (imo) as a microfiber towel or mitt.

tried the proline and not too wowed by it. much more dense than the other grout sponges and tougher to rinse out dirt. the other softer grouts release dirt much much better.

you must of got a defective one LOL, IME it's alot softer and lasts longer than all the other sponges/GS's i've tried. keep using it, it will get softer the more you do...

Thanks. I may pick one of these to try. Just for the lower panels and bugs/tar right?

no, you can use it to wash the entire car like any other wash media...

also, as i've stated many times.. it may not be for everyone...

FYI - budget grit gaurd can be had if you buy a paint grid from any paint department. Lowes and HD has the metal style that can be bent to fit any bucket. Also it will rust so remove and dry when not in use.

sorry for the hijack.
