GOT PREP?
After working on this the day before:

You can see why I almost fainted when I showed up to my Sunday appointment and the car is in the garage, washed, and ready to be buffed!! Actually, this is the second time that I have detailed for this customer and I knew that the car would be absolutely spotless. He keeps his wheel wells cleaner than most people keep their paint!! All I needed to do was QD and I was ready to tape and start buffing:

The car just had a few areas that needed attention after going through dealer prep. As I expected the C6 clear is as hard as glass.

The process for this car was:

Spot buff with Menzerna powergloss @1700 RPM’s via lake country orange pad

Buff entire car with Menzerna Intensive polish with a Meguiars polishing pad @1500 RPM’s

Apply Zaino ZPC paint cleaner via cyclo polisher and white cyclo brand pads

Wipe down with Z6

Apply three layers of Z2 PRO sealant by hand, removing each layer with a microfiber towel after about 10-15 minutes

Wipe down with Z8

Tires were already dressed by the owner with Z16

Glass cleaned with NXT glass cleaner

Wow! What a beautiful C6 and the Z full treatment just made it outstanding. You gave me quite a start when I saw the first two pics and wondered what the heck did someone do to a C6? It looks like someone used an icepick or screwdriver on the paint. Then I realized what you had written.. whew! What was that and did you get it looking any better?

Thanks for sharing, you made my evening.

Looks fantastic to me!

How often do you use the Menzerna line-up? I don't recall seeing your posts with it too often.

Terrific work as always! The paint looks spectacular! :up

Great to have clean customer's eh? I did a '97 SL500 today that only took me 15 minutes to deep clean the interior!

Looks awesome! Silver C6's are quite sexy.

What kind of tape did you use to tape off the trim? I tried some 3M tape, but it didn't quite stick.

Thanks for the kind wors everyone!!!

tdekany, no reason really--I have just started playing them in detail and I am learning their limits, quirls, etc. I do find that thus far FP-II has no equal, it has become the final polish for just about every detail that I have done since finding it.

The Car posted above the vette was a 97(I think) Saab convertible...trashed beyond belief!!

I did what I could....

wet sand entire trunk with Meg's 3000 grit

HT EC 1500 RPM's/orange LC pad

3M PI-III MG/1400 RPM's/white VC LC pad

FP-II/cyclo/white cyclo pads

two thin coats of #21 by hand

trim dressed with HT bumper and molding renewer

tires dressed with hyper dressing 1:1
