So the owner of this vehicle admitted it had been over a year since they had even washed the car, and a coat of wax was applied 2 years ago. The rims were in ridiculously bad condition, so bad I couldn't slavage them with my limited skills. They were pitting very badly and after 2 hours of finger scrubing I gave up. The VW clear coat is extremely hard and the car really only had minor defects and some really major dents and gouges.
Wash and prep:
Simple green - 2 bucket method
Autoglym engine degreaser
P21S wheel gel (did nothing but remove some brake dust)
Mothers aluminum polish (did nothing -> aborted midway)
Never Dull (decent product got a lot off the rims)
Ricardo clay and Blackfire clay lubricant
Polish process:
M105 Orange CCS (lots of pressure)
M205 White CCS
Menzerna Final Polish Black CCS
Optimum Car wax (spray wax -> first time used and enjoyed it)
Optimum opti-seal
As you can see the condition of the car, let this picture represent how dirty the car was.
