'99 Volvo S80 - Ghost Silver

This was a '99 S80 I did for another Autopian, Ben, who was a great customer. The car came off the trailer from a dealership in Jersey with faded trim, dull paint, and moderate swirls:

These swirls were a *lot* worse under incandescents

Taped up for polishing:

Process:

Deep Crystal Wash with foamgun

Wheel Brightener

Clay with DC as lube

OHC/LC wool pad on hood, trunk and RIDS

OP/LC wool pad on whole car

P0106FF/1500rpm/LC green medium cut

Poli-Seal/PC 6/LC white

Poli-Seal/hand on chrome, rims, glass and doorjambs

Duragloss AW on paint, rims, chrome and glass

CG O-shine New Shine dressing x3 on trim (trim was thirsty, soaked up the first application with no improvement in look)

O-Shine x2 on tires

You can really see the difference a good camera makes - the befores were taken with a 3mp point and shoot... the afters were taken with Ben's Rebel XT. I have got to get me one of those.

Nice work...I was never able to get my silver Lincoln LS to shine like that. Did you change the wheels in the after pics?

Nice job on the paint correction!

My previous vehicle was a '99 S80. Had quite a bit of trouble with it. Turns out that the '99 S80 was the worst year for any new Volvo they had ever made.

I was happy when I sold it, but I still miss it...
