I was going to post this detail a while back (Saturday), but I couldn't due to site upgrades.

Subject: 99 Jetta

Exterior was in decent shape, not too many major dings, or scrapes, but it was looking dull and faded.

Processes:

SSR3 with cutting pad on major scratches (works great on silver) :)

SSR 2 to restore gloss and depth back to the rest of the car.

Topped with AIO and Sealant Glaze.

Natural Shine on the tires

AIO on the rims.

Wheel wells didn't get anything as I'm prepping it for a show this friday.

Befores:

I guess the shine super shiney paint screwed that one up ;)

A couple more of the exterior:

Interior shots aren't all that great as I took them after we went to lunch (he gave me a 20 dollar tip and free lunch! :) )

Engine bay shots: It wasn't dressed, as I'm prepping it for a show on Friday.

Looking good! I really like the rims :) (all other smileys are currently "resting" lol)

Does it have the 1.8T motor? (guessing from the Revo sticker, not well up on my Dubs). How often do you break out the SSR3 and was there a particular problem which prompted you to go for it? I ask as I don't see it mentioned that often compared with the 2.5 so was wondering if it would be worth investing in.

I don't usually break out the SSR3. But it really cuts down on the time it takes to wear down some more major scratches, especially with a PC. On some paints it will leave a haze, but this one seemed fairly good. :)

looking sweet man. yes thats a 1.8t motor.. Revo is a "chip" but is loaded in through the OBD II port so u dont have to touch the ECU.

Are those harnesses running to the child seat anchors!?! That would be an extremely bad idea as, obviously, adults weigh a good bit more than most children in child seats. I hope they run to the shoulder belt point in the back.

The paint looks great. Good luck on the show prep.

They go to the shoulder belts. This thing handles wickedly good. He's going into auto-x this year, so they're manditory.

Looking good.

But that is a 2003. Also, those belts aren't mandatory for auto-x, and the car handles alright, but not great because the wheels are heavy, and I think, but am not sure, it only has springs, not a suited spring/shock combo. :bigups

True, it is a 2003. But who cares about the autocross stuff, its the detail, not the car. I don't want this to turn into the Lambo thread.

Meg's Detailer Line APC worked extremely well for me to remove tar from my rocker panels. Do a search for the thread in the Detailing Product Discussion forum.

Is your sig an actual quote from the Mazda forums? I've seen some pretty dumb posts there, but that one takes the cake.

Yes thats the one. :LOLOL

Hello! This is my car and I must say that steve did an AMAZING job cleaning my car.

Now to clarify some things: It's a 2003 1.8T which has a revo software flash. The harnesses are OMP 3-point's which were offered to me for an unbelievable clearance price when I was in Vancouver. I'm going to use them for auto-x whenever I go out to it. All I really have done suspension wise are springs, and I'm gonna upgrade the shocks and struts when the stock ones die whenever that may be.
