'98 Ferrari 355 F1 Berlinetta detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

Today was a good day!! I got to rub on this GORGEOUS Ferrari all day long. Even though I had about a 45 minute one way drive to his location...it was worth it!! The owner of this slick Italian beast saw my eyes light up when I arrived and offered to take me for a "quick ride" and I of course obliged him. :D This car is fast...not stupid fast but I would say an honest high 12 second quarter mile car. Power delivery is silky smooth and the shifts are seamless. Like every Ferrari I have ever heard at WOT it sounds like an angry sport bike as it screams towards redline. This is a "perk" of my job that I will always treasure.

The car is a 1998 F355 Berlinetta with about 9K on the odo and is equipped with the F1 paddle shift transmission. The vehicle was in overall good condition...some stone chips, an occasional deeper scratch and some light swirling from poor washing technique. Below is a description of the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Polish with Klasse AIO using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Glaze with ClearKote's Vanilla Moose using a Meg's 9006 pad and my PC set at 4.

Seal with Pinnacle Souveran by hand with a foam pad.

Meg's Hot Shine on the tires, VM on the glass and AIO on the rims.

I had to do the entire engine cover by hand as I was afraid I would get product stuck in the mesh grills.

:bow Great work, Mike! I don't think the two SC430's I washed today equal the cost of a 355...maybe if you toss in the Escalade, Marauder, C280, Avenger and 350Z too (all washes except the Escalade which was a wash/wax) it would be more!

That Ferrari looks like a wet, black mirror!

Must have been a blast riding in that thing. Other exotics are quicker, but nothing is like the Ferrari 'ripping fabric' shreik as they approach redline.

Looks incredible as usual Mike. Quite a product selection, he must have paid a pretty penny for the detail, and it looks like it was worth ever cent!:D

beautiful exoctic!

i got to do a few lotus's back a few years ago.

this one was my favorite, even though the guy is an azz now!

OH GOOD GAWD speak the truth man!!! :bow The only thing I would add to that statement would be the crushed Oreo's and various other food items that have been sitting under the seats since Slick Willy's first term in office.

Whenever I get a chance to detail a car like this I do my best to clear my schedule so that it will be the only vehicle I work on that day. I get to relax, admire every square inch of the car and remind myself how lucky I am to do this for a living.

THANK YOU all for the kind words!! :up

did you explain to the owner that the sealant needs to be dynamically dried by driving the vehicle between coats? You have to drive it yourself so you know when it's ready for the next one.
