98 BMW with bad swirls.....HELP

Hey all, I have a detail to do this week and it has some bad swirls and scratches from BAD wash technique I am guessing. I tried to talk the guy into a full correction but he is not interested in spending that much. He wants 2 layers on the car. One for correction and one for polish. What do you guys suggest? Here is what I have right now with a plan to order some stuff ASAP. PC with all pads at 5.5", 3m medium cut, 3m finish-it, Duragloss 101, Optimum Poliseal and Optiseal and some NXT. I was going to order some SIP with some more pads and maybe PFW...even though I won't use it for a 2 step. I was just going to go with SIP for the first layer and then the PS for the second and I might be nice and put the OS on top of that. All after clay.

What do you guys suggest? I have till Sunday evening before I will place my order.

Thanks,

Bobby

That's alot of lsp's I'd ask how much you're willing to do all those steps for. I myself if they don't want full correction, show car shine, keep it to just a simple clay, polish (turtle wax premium polishing compound because it's cheap and leaves almost no swirls when used properly, and is much gentler than the old paste polish in the tub), swirl remover and 1 wax. The finish usually looks good enough to charge 250 for. And I don't like to cut into paint so much since if they've let it get that bad once, it'll happen again and you'll again have to cut into their paint again. I say whatever is left, live with it because I can remove it but it's only doing them a disservice because their paint will be left thinner and if they let it go again and again between corrections they risk paint failure from all the heavy duty polishing.

Thanks for the help. I think I am going to be claying then using Optimum polish on an orane pad followed by the poli-seal on maybe grey pad with some opti-seal on top. The guy doesn't want to pay more than $200. I tried to tell him that the paint will be better but he honestly thought a layer of wax would fix the problem.

It's dark blue and the swirls are bad. What does everyone think? If I am doing 2 steps which 2 steps do you suggest(pad a product). I have Optimum polish and compound on the way along with access to a few more 3m products.
